Apparently, from what support told me, Steam's address verification thing is REALLY REALLY REALLY anal about caps and even goddamn trailing spaces (this is stupid as hell in my opinion), so i need to call the credit card people and find out how my address appears in their files.
This site will give an address you put in back in the Postal Service's standard format.  That should get you past an uppity address verification system.

Mirror's Edge demo on the 360 is still limited to Gold Memberships; thus, instead, I downloaded the demo for the new Banjo-Kazooie game.

The game looses a shitload of points pretty quickly for having a nigh-unskipable introduction, with no VA, and the pre-requisite Xbox360 "fuck everyone who doesn't own big-screen TV" font.

It's pretty, though. Which makes the whole "no VA" thing all the more painfully stupid.

Congrats! I'm halfway through the stupid Golden Axe trade-athon myself. It'd be nice to get it before transferring stuff over to the new game... if that is, in fact, an actual feature and not just a rumor.

I'd love to be able to move some of my stuff.  I have a lot of nice things.  Also things that I don't want in my specific house but would look great in my new house in city folk.

I watched a ton of little videos on city folk today, and I am now really really excited.  Because I'm so lame, one of the most exciting things to me was A) my house could be next door to an animal I super love, B) OMG FANG YOU'RE BACK IN THE GAME ;-; and C) Shirts have different fronts and backs and that is awesome.

Also also, edit: MY GOD, Freckles came to my town from Esperath.  THANKS A LOT.

Cat's been getting pictures left and right without much effort: she doesn't have much time to play every day, so she never mails letters and only talks to everyone a few times in the evenings. Meanwhile, I've only earned a single one and I mail letters (the perfect letter that Duke taught me) with gifts, and I talk to them, and give them stuff they ask for, and so on.

Also, last night there were shooting stars in my town! We both managed to wish on one of them, but we each got a lame chess piece.

The perfect letter?

You don't just curse at them and spit on the paper?

I played the demo for the new Banjo-Kazooie for a little bit. It's somehow even more gorgeous in motion than in the screenshots. The audio is also quite good, lots of classic series themes arranged quite well. The physics feel solid, the character design is distinctive and coherent, Banjo's square snout and all. It bears all the signs of being a top-notch game.

But...

Maybe it's just that the default vehicles that you get during the demo are extremely shitty. Maybe it's just that the missions and such aren't designed for the sort of clunkiness that vehicles inherently entail. Maybe I just didn't get it. But most of the time I felt like I was fighting against the controls more so than against any particular obstacle the game put in front of me. The race would be the one exception there - even with the worst vehicle in the game, that still controlled rather nicely, except for the crashing which was still a bit off. Overall, though, I couldn't help but feel like I'd rather be running and jumping all over the place than driving on it.

Maybe I'm just biased against vehicle games ever since F-Zero GX. Maybe I'm just itching for a good platformer (I'll try the demo again after I've given the XBLA version of the original Banjo-Kazooie a whirl. That game needs to come out already). Maybe the demo doesn't give you enough time to get used to it. Or maybe it's just not as well-executed as it needs to be.

oh god f-zero gx

How do they expect you to unlock any damn thing?  The story mode is nigh-fucking impossible.  I could never beat Samurai Goroh.

I just stuck at the 'Speed GX: DRIVE THE BLUE FALCON FAST OR BLOOD FALCON'S BOMB BLOWS YOUR SLOW ASS UP'.  Then I flipped the game the bird and gamesharked everything in.

I want my spinoff game about Captain Falcon's bounty hunting adventures.  But with a story and voiceacting (NOT IN A NINTENDO GAME, CHAMP) dialogue that's as over the top as Metal Wolf Chaos.

To be fair, horrible font sizes are built straight into the system's API, if XNA is any indication.

Last night for Hello Kitty Online Founder's Beta. Hadn't bothered since launch night, so I thought I'd sit around to watch the sugary facade crumble apart. After ten minutes of patches, we once again enter the world of survival fashionista:

First off, Elvis greeted me right away,

The NPCs were either aware The End Times were near,

Or tripped out on mescaline,

To give you an idea of what missions consist of:

Epic. The new emotes were inappropriately tits.

Since nearly a month passed, how were fellow players leveled and dressed?

Bottom, Kuchisake-onna, and Top. Gotcha.

Only an hour remained until the server cascaded, and I had yet to play any mini-games. As if on cue, another gal invited me over and we baked each other pies, served each other drinks, and harnessed the power of the stars.

FRAPS failed to capture a single screenshot, since mini-games open in another window.

:MENDOZAAAAA:

After our smexy encounter, word of a naked farewell party on the beach reached us.

Kitty herself appeared, walking gently across the water, hallowed be thy name. An outcry of love and fornication reached an apex until

Mini-games were the highlight. Dying at the hands of bears made to resemble sugar cubes was memorable. Open Beta isn't out until December, dunno if I'll keep the client instal-

!!!

Maybe I'll become a GM? Or better yet, marry one?!?  :wuv:

So maybe Rare will fix Banjo-Kazooie's tiny text after all.  In other news, Capcom doesn't know what they're talking about because they don't read that crazy moonspeak English language, refuse to learn.

Finally completed every mission in Armored Core for Answer on hard mode.  Jesus.  I love you so much more than Armored Core 4 that it's criminal.
