I'm not fond of tattoos, but if a girl I like already has one or really really really wants one then I could live with it. It's not like it affects tactile sensation.

I find most piercings are gross though. I can stand earrings because of KULTUR, and navel piercings are okay in that "not a plus, not a minus" kind of way for some reason, but everything else is a huge turn-off. Especially anywhere in the face. I'll never get why some women want to jab metal crap in their supple female skin; even something as small as that common ball on the side of the nose amounts to basically a hard shiny wart. Every once in a while I see a cute girl somewhere, and then suddenly she turns her head and I notice she has a spike between the mouth and the chin or a ring in the eyebrow and I'm like, damn, what a tragedy. Oi.

I don't think I could ever willingly get a piercing.  They seem way too painful.  So I'm glad I got my ears pierced when I was an infant.

Yeah, there's that thing with the implied pain and borderline maimery that bugs me too. If a girl wants to prove she's tough, I'd rather see her punch me in the face than jab a needle through her ladybits. I wouldn't date her either way but at least she wouldn't get hurt.

Myself, I kind of put this under the same heading as "I really don't like makeup".

What is the no shaving custom?  I haven't heard of that.

It's partially an obscure/hasidic  thing.  It's one interpretation of "Do not round the corners of your head." Which is also is followed by some muslims.  Then the shaving in mourning thing is not following a rule, per se, but rather an unwritten old custom similar to native American cutting of one's hair when in mouring, or a Japanese girl getting a hair-cut when dumped by a boyfriend.  It's a way of outwardly showing that you are distraught and not to be messed with further.  At the same time, it symbolically represents that you will heal from your emotional wound as time passes, just as your hair grows back.  Traditionally, it was done in addition to intentionally ripping one's clothes and wearing rags/tattered clothing until you were over it enough to mend them (even if it wasn't you doing the actual mending).

This is how all Jews feel about circumcision.

Somewhere obscure.

No, it really isn't.

Make-up is only hot when it doesn't attract attention to itself. Kind of like perfume: if you realize that it's there, there's too much of it.

I could not get a tattoo. I don't care how many people say it's relatively painless. It's a needle puncturing your skin at hundreds of miles per hour, over and over. Getting my ears pierced was enough, and I still have to saltwater the right one, even though it's been a year.

Make-up is only hot when it doesn't attract attention to itself.

I'm still working on that. I'm not Kevyn Aucoin, but at least I can look nice enough to leave the house.

None for me, but I think they can be wicked attractive on the right people.

Truth.

If you ever want to know what getting a tattoo feels like. Imagine what pinching a small portion of your skin with a tweezer would feel like. Now imagine that it feels like that, except it also has the weird sensation of feeling like they're pulling the tweezer, while still grasping your skin, across your flesh while doing it.

I've got a tattoo on my right shoulder with plans to get a few more... It's sorta painful but only really stings in certain places. It doesn't hurt unpleasantly... Totally not a masochist.

I could only get a tattoo if it no longer involved needles or anything. If it was basically them printing a picture on my body with a MAGIC INK I'd totally get... one. Maybe two!
Maaaaaybe.

I just can't stand pain. The thought of a needle pulling in and out of my skin while shoving ink in there....

bleeeeeh!

But chicks with tattoos can be hot depending on the chick AND on the tattoo!

I do not find any Asian anything hot on anything but Asians for example.

The Asian tats with "OMG THIS TOTALLY SAYS LOVE IN LIKE CHINESE OR SOMETHING" or, for example, I know this irish guy with a big Chinese dragon on his arm. Does not look good!

Now my Asian friend has basically the same tattoo on him. And it looks just fine.

Racist.

But in all seriousness, I would never get a bunch of tattoos because I'd personally look very silly with a bunch of tattoos. It'd be at odds with the rest of my personal aesthetic paradigm.

I am going to get a perfect square drawn in four thin lines, each one inch long, and then chronicle its slow stretching and deconstruction on Flickr as a metaphor for dreams and the things young people sacrifice, so that Digg users in 2030 can vote up my personal website and I'll be famous

I've considered getting a Nintendo D-pad tattoo'd on the top of my hand in the space between the thumb and forefinger. Left hand of course.

I'd get a tatoo if I didn't have ridiculous wishy-washyness.
