Grave of the Fireflies for ULTIMATE DEPRESSION

I keep forgetting I own this (part of a big box set of all his work). I think it's a form of self-preservation.

Castle of Cagliostro

you fucking monster

Never seen it. I had an old review for it that made it sound amazing back in 1993 (I think?) and tried to get a copy to watch for years afterwards, but just seemed to always have a really weird run of bad luck with it, either not being able to watch the copy or not getting it or whatever.

I just gave up after a while, figuring it was some kind of MONKEY THIEF CURSE.

But let me guess.... you threw it out?

Cause even if that wasn't an offer to send it over, that would still fit perfectly with my history with that movie.

It may be in my movie binder, I honestly don't know.  It was like 7 years ago and I was all "what is lupin this is dumb"

I will be impressed if it really survived the 8 moves since then

goddamnit mce why didn't you tell me you are akon seven years ago when i was there seven years ago are you trying to avoid me or something

Also Castle of Cagliostro is pretty tits.  You could also get by with watching The Great Mouse Detective in its stead.

Considering they get aired like nine times a year, I don't think it's worth even a rental.

This is exactly how I feel about Tremors.

Yeah, Tremors is like my biggest guilty pleasure ever (the whole series, I'm not going to lie) but I would never pay to watch movies that may as well have their own network for how often they get aired on scifi.

I heard a lot of great things about Cagliostro, so I bought it, watched it, and enjoyed it well enough. Then my copy inexplicably disappeared, like, the next day.

Castle of Cagliostro is wonderful, can't stress that enough.

ALSO: This week, Disney released Ponyo, slong with re-releases of Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, and My Neighbor Totoro. All come with Kayma's highest approval rating.

Frocto, why did you recommend, "We're Back"?

the only people capable of not enjoying We're Back are cartoon villains, such as Ebaneezer Scrooge and Dick Cheney. Seriously, it's the most heartwarming singing and dancing dinosaurs cartoon of all time.

Okay, time for some serious suggestions.

A Goofy Movie
Alien
Castle of Cagliostro
Jurassic Park
Lion King
Motherfucking Totoro
Predator
Porco Rosso
Shoot 'Em Up
Up
We're Back (When I was a kid, I got confused and thought this was Jurassic Park 2. God, if only)

...Sorry, Frocto, but this list is making me want to be friends with you.  If that weirds you out, okay!  If it doesn't, drop me a line and we can watch Pom Poko and Die Hard 2 together.  That is all!
