I used to love Dr. Pepper when I was in Elementary School, but then in the fifth grade some little bastard told me that drinking it shrinks your genitals. It's... never tasted the same ever since.

Probably because no one in the south actually knows what that is.

Coke, I just wish it had a little less sugar, and by sugar, I mean corn syrup.  Mexican coke is better (real sugar) but I still would prefer it to have maybe only 75% as much sugar as it has.

I like my tea unsweetened*, and I wish I could have my coke unsweetened, if only to see how much it really needs it.  Which I'm damn sure it doesn't to the extent they put in it.

*I drink a fuckton of tea (straight green and various blacks, but never herbal), and I often wish it where carbonated.  Carbonated Tea and greatly less sweetened coke are my dream drinks.  Rootbeer is fine how it is, although Sprecher's has a little too much sugar when bottled.

Some grocery stores in Maine carry it. The only time I've ever actually seen it in the wild any further south than that was in a little ice cream shop in Philadelphia. So sad :(

Apparently one of my semi-recent ancestors (forget which one) sold Moxie and other syrups.

It's not pop, but I'd like to also give a BRENTAI NOD to orange juice.

Honestly I just don't like Mexican Coke.  The sugar-for-corn-syrup substitution is not the only one, and the whole thing ends up tasting like some sort of bitter Jarritos.

Dr Pepper.

I prefer Coke over Pepsi but I'd take almost any other kind of soda over a cola most days.  Vault especially.

A trick I leaned when working at Tim Hortons was to put a tea bag in a cup and fill up the cup with sprite.

Oh my, I had heard that there was an educated debate going on about the subject of fizzly pop drinks, but here I find that our own Disposable Ninja is in charge of the proceedings and has gone about them with all the grace of a Bull in a China Shop.

The only legitimate options are "Pepsi", "Coke", "RC Cola"  ::(: and "I have no taste, clearly"? Disposable Ninja, allow me to cast my vote and introduce you to a world of tasteful class and classy taste you can only dream of now as you suckle at the teat of the mundane!

The curl of orange n' creme as it works it's way across every individual cube, sparkling gently and achieving the perfect temperature for ideal consumption... partaking of soda is not any mundane task, for you must strike at the beverage at the ideal moment when the chill sets in, but before the watering down begins... I also can't approve of your side-options for the addle-minded who can only take their soda from default methods.

Clearly, there is something to be said for the difference between Glass and Plastic Cups, the Size of these Cups, and the presence or absence of ice... or whether or not you chill the soda before mixing it with the ice. And Stewart's offers the appeal of removing a cap, adding a subtle edge to your prize. The infinitesimal adjustments of perception are the art of achieving maximum satisfaction. I often find that a Soda can only truly be appreciated after an hour of work or three days denial.

I hope you can come to appreciate the true grandeur of the world of Soda Connoisseurism.

The only place I can debate soda is at Pops66, a wonderful place in Arcadia, Oklahoma.

So far I'm a big fan of Boylan* sodas that I got to try from there.  Their cane cola has a distinctive taste.  Black Cherry is another good favorite.

Moxie is a bit of an acquired taste but I have to get a six pack the few times a year I drive through here.  I love the stuff now.

What? No, no, you misunderstood it. It's "Pepsi", "Coke", "Joke Option" and "I'm a huge blubbering vagina".

That last one was added after the fact because all the blubbering vaginas complained that their favorite soda wasn't listed.

Honestly, my real intention with this thread was to determine the preferred method of serving soda, to see if others prefer it from the tap or bottled, or if it doesn't matter at all. I went with Pepsi and Coca Cola because those two or the most prominent of base sodas, and can be combined with any flavoring. RC was added because the thought of anyone drinking it was funny to me.

As far as your little... Stewart Soda. I don't see Strawberry. And Strawberry, and this is a provable fact probably, is the best flavor a fruity soft drink can be. To make matters worse for your argument, it doesn't appear as if your Stewart drinks are Mexican is origin. So, Stewart's is neither Mexican nor Strawberry, therefore, it pales in comparison to anything that is.

Yeah because if there's anything Mexico is known for, it's potable liquids :hurr:
