I've only shown you a level of class and sophistication that your poll clearly lacked and pointed out that whatever you're trying to ascertain, you're forgetting too many factors.

I won't force you. It is every man's choice, after all, whether or not he wishes to develop some taste and class.

Furthermore, mentioning your preferred soda in a vague, whiny way to try and condemn Stewart's without linking to it is incredibly crass.

Enjoy Stewart's!

If I remember Stewart's correctly it had an inferior, overly-sweetened root beer.  The Orange and Cream, however, was indeed superlative.

Stewart's Orange n' Cream is pretty good, I agree, but my favourite pop of for years and years time was actually the PC House Brand Black Cherry, which is now sadly discontinued.

That shit was DY-NO-MYTE and most other black cherry pop I've had since then tastes thin and flavourless compared to the ol' President's Choice. Not to mention being a whole lot more expensive for a whole lot less quantity.

This was my experience with the brand as well and wrote off the whole line as being potentially similar.

Well, I suppose that's not strictly true. On occasion I run into a drink that's not carbonated and then forget what it's called. That one is tolerable.

The rest, though? Disgusting.

This thread is 250% more hilarious if you mentally replace all mentions of "soda" and synonyms with appropriate variations on "skub".

Bawls' rootbeer tastes almost exactly the same as Stewart's.

In terms of Rootbeer, IBC is the best there is.  Bottled A&W is also good, making up for much of it's inferiority with a pleasant creaminess that most others (including IBC) lack, but on tap and in a can it more than often is a bit too watered down.

I like mountain dew.

Oh god, not that slime!!!

I'll actually second that. A&W may be mass-market, but that doesn't mean it's bad.

I actually prefer A&W on tap, at an A&W restaurant in a frosty mug.  In bottles it's a bit too saturated and sugary.  I vastly prefer IBC when in bottles, because of it's richer flavor.  There are other, less appreciated brands, such as Bolands, XXX, Daddy's, and Jones.  I refuse to drink Barq's because it tastes like someone watered down MUG then pissed in it.

Most root beers I have tried are not caffeinated.  Barq's is.

I like Barq's root beer.

You make 'em remarkably like how you make baby floats.

I don't like root beer floats because the foam tastes really really gross. Apparently this is a problem a lot of people have, though.

I know I don't like Mug root beer. Barq's is probably my favorite, though not for caffeination, just for the bite it has. A&W is pretty okay, but if I am at A&W it's just for their fried cheese thingos which are baller as possible.

That vanilla-y rootbeer-y foam is in fact the best part of a root beer float, but in a pinch you can actually buy these bottled root beer floats from A&W that are actually not too bad and wouldn't have the foaming issue since all the component parts are already blended.  It's essentially a root beer with cream and it goes down smoooooth.

OBJECTION.

First let me establish that I am a man who loves the creamy foam in a root beer float.  That stuff is fantastic.

But secondly I must negate what Niku said and spread the word that the A&W Root Beer Float in a bottle is nasty nasty nasty.  It is the worst of both worlds, really.  The only thing worse is the Sunkist Orange Cream one they also sell.

I had that orange cream one. Stuart's Orange Cream is a much better way to go.
