Here's one that happened recently.

I was being picked up from work, so it's night.  The roads have thinned out enough.  But still, strip mall-esque parking.  So we're going along down our two lane road, this woman comes out of a different exit of the parking lot.  No foul here.

She then proceeds to NOT pick a lane.  Never mind that her speed is laughable, just that she was sitting smack dab center so nobody could pass her.  It took the horn AND high beams to make her shift over a lane.

Holy shit, I hate driving with road work going on.

I especially hate driving from Wisconsin to Wyoming with a 6x8 trailer while road work is going on.

My town was apparently once ancient native american road work grounds, and when the white man moved in they just built everything around it and decided to ignore it.

I was in a bit of a fender bender (well, car door bender) today. My fault, really, I was backing up.

Into my mom.

So, it's late Friday night. Not the time you'd expect bumper-to-bumper traffic on your local freeway.

THINK AGAIN, FUCKFACE. Someone got in an accident big enough to merit an ambulance response a mile ahead. Hope you enjoy sitting on the freeway for over an hour.

Having moved to Maryland, and being about 15 minutes away from my place of work, I don't hit much traffic.  My only gripe here, I think, would be that the traffic lights take WAY too long to switch over.

I like the lights in Annapolis that are on rigid timers and will block me to let empty intersections take 30 second green lights.

Better that then trying to get the weight-sensor-based ones recognise you on a motorcycle.

So, okay, this was a new one for me: stop-and-go traffic, uphill, with a fucking motorcycle behind me.  So, you know, every time I moved forward a few feet, I was aware that if I didn't get my foot from the gas to the brake fast enough, I could roll downhill and crush the guy behind me.

He seemed to figure out how precarious his situation was, because eventually he got over to the left side of the lane so if I slid backward he'd have a better chance of getting out of the way.  Of course, by the time he pulled that off the ground had leveled off.

...Anyway.  I live off Rural; the next mile east is McClintock; the next mile east of that is the 101.  My grandparents in Scottsdale live between McClintock (which on that side is called Hayden) and the 101.

In the past two days, I have discovered that both McClintock AND the 101 are fucked up, so I am down to one route I can use going between these two places.

The main thought in my mind at this point is, is city planner an elected office?  Was it on the ballot last week?  And, if so, did I vote against the incumbent?

You know what's really frustrating about driving?  Having no working radio or tape deck in your car.  That's pretty fun for long drives  ::(:

I guess you could buy some speakers for it but that would be cumbersome.  We're not talking about being the passenger here.

I always had the impression that wearing headphones while driving was a no-no.  Maybe I'm wrong.

It's my understanding that wearing headphones while driving is pretty illegal, like having fuzzy dice.
