Someone's tested the myth that McDonalds burgers don't rot because they're full of chemicals. Result: myth busted. Any small flat burger will resist rotting, as its high surface area to size ratio means it dries out too quickly for mould to take hold. Keep it in a jar so the moisture can't escape, and both the McDonalds burger and a regular burger will go mouldy the same way.

I'm going to go get two McRibs

With cheese

And some fries.

I'm going to disassemble the two sandwiches

Take one slab of processed pseudomeat and pile on the fries

Slather in ketchup or barbeque sauce I guess

Top with the other slab

Ta-da! McRib Double Down.

I've only heard that about their french fries, and if you've ever found one in your car after weeks or months, you can see how it looks almost exactly the same as it did when it was fresh.

Goddamn this place is amazing. I had The Hogtown yesterday (and today! It was so huge I had to save half) and it was like a box of DELICIOUS CULINARY MOUTH SEX.

I don't know where one would find cheese curds but it's not like the rest of poutine is hard to make, man.

I also enjoyed the fact that the store mascot looks like me.

Niku has my sympathies, because really I have no idea where you'd get proper cheese curds outside of Quebec (well, I'm sure I could rustle up some here in Toronto, but in Texas... all bets are off).

Clearly the answer is to come to Canada for a gastrotrip.

A&W sells cheese curds.  They're not AS bad as you would expect from a B-list fast food chain, but they're probably not "proper" as such.

I meant more in the context of "Go to grocery store, get stuff for making fries, stuff for making gravy, and a container of cheese curds".  If grocery stores here carry cheese curds suitable for poutining, I've just never seen where.

Cheese curds aren't that hard to come by. Whole Foods or pretty much any froo-froo organic blowjob grocery store with a well stocked cheese section will probably have them.  I know my local whole foods has cheese curds and I'm in Oklahoma, we're only one state up from Texas.

If you can find a dairy farm that operates to the public, they may also have cheese curds if they make their own cheese.

Edit: lastly, you can make your own, really easily: http://www.ehow.com/how_5106352_make-cheese-curds-poutine.html

I don't know if you get fresh cheddar daily at your grocery stores, but if you do, it probably isn't made very far away, and unless it's some soulless megacorporation you might be able to go to that place and get some curds. It might be a sort of going-to-a-sawmill-and-asking-to-buy-a-log unusual request, but internally they must have some.
