I love how this game can evolve over the years. In the beginning of MvC2 everyone thought Magneto was the worst then quickly rose to the best rushdown. Perhaps Taskmaster will rise to the top in very much the same way. I'm really hoping to rock Felicia, Amaterasu, and some form of decent assist. Though one thing of note is that theres a side menu in the character select that has a list of your most picked teams that allows you to quick select your characters. That's a great idea for a game like this.

what the fuck was the reasoning behind bone claws wolverine being in 2 anyway?

did they need one more character but didn't have the memory to fit someone else in so they just made a shitty clone character?

I assume it's because he had bone claws in the comics at the time.  But actually, checking the game's release date (which is sometime after I quit reading X-Men, which is sometime after he got his adamantium back in a goddamn flashback), no, no he did not.

Sometimes the character choices ARE hard to fathom, though.  Like, wasn't there one that had War Machine but not Iron Man?  What the fuck's up with THAT?

People like seeing their favorite characters go toe to toe. This has been true when Freddy fought Jason, it was true when Godzilla fought King Kong, it was true when Aliens fought Predators (both movies and games) and plenty of other shit.

The fact that this particular iteration of that phenomenon is a 2d fighting game with the potential for high end/interesting play is immaterial.

Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything? I know plenty of thug-ass black folk who LOVE Akuma (no, seriously, thugs love Akuma). Patito and I are over here, thinking Akuma is a cool guy, but we really don't care about say, Taskmaster. It also doesn't change the facts about the money issues Romo and I have talked about. Or does it change what the game actually is.

It's totally true, but it's also not terribly relevent.

Well, I was still trying to articulate why people who don't have much interest in fighting games (like you and I do) might enjoy MvC3. I wasn't commenting on Akuma or Clones or anything else, sorry if that wasn't clear.

I think the crux of the argument here is, Akuma is rather easy to implement into the game, from a programming perspective. His inclusion is not taking important resources away from something else, not the way making an entirely new character would, so even if he wasn't in the game, this doesn't mean that Strider or Captain Commando would have been implemented instead.

And I'm pretty happy to see Akuma in the game, so there.

Sentinel is most likely not gonna get used as much as he was in 2

He's lost his super armor, isn't on his own tier of hp and is significantly slower
