They should have gone with Jubilee, but made it so she can only punch and kick.

Although, if Marvel really wanted a woman they could have gone with Storm, who also has the additional advantage of being black.

Storm, Magneto, Cable and Sentinel are all conspicuously missing so far.

Deadpool sort of seems like Cable's replacement.

Which is fitting, and has also probably been said in this thread already.

To be perfectly honest I could name about five other characters that could have fit the 'token girl' niche on Marvel's side better than X-23. The only caveat would be that at least two of them would also be the female version of a male superhero, while the other three would be members of the X-men. Any way you look at it, you lose.

Jessica Jones.

Yeah, I guess I was a little hasty and this has been a stressy week. All the characters I can think of are probably too niche, like Elisa Bloodstone and the Wasp.

Well, there is Ms. Marvel.

I mean, yeah, she's technically the female version of Marvel's Captain Marvel.

But that sort of implies that someone, somewhere actually cares about Captain Marvel. Well, any Captain Marvel that didn't appear in Nextwave.

Now I want Nextwave's Captain Marvel in there.  Or The Captain.  Or anyone from Nextwave, really.

Yeah, I guess I was a little hasty and this has been a stressy week. All the characters I can think of are probably too niche, like Elisa Bloodstone and the Wasp.

Wasp's more high-profile than most.  Black Widow would make for a pretty generic fighter, but she WAS in a major Hollywood motion picture recently.  Sue Storm's powerset is pretty tough to realize in a fighting game, and anyway the FF are already covered by Super Skrull.

Storm's already been mentioned as the most obvious choice, not only in terms of name recognition but the fact that Capcom's used her in the past.  I expect we'll be seeing her any time now.

Me, I'd like to see Songbird.

Lessee...Firestar could work and the audience might remember her from the cartoon.  She-Hulk would be good but of course comes with the "female version of a male character" problem.  Emma Frost's got the turn-to-diamond thing going on now, so her powerset's no longer impossible to implement in a fighting game.

...and I guess there's Elektra, if you must.

Now I want Nextwave's Captain Marvel in there.  Or The Captain.  Or anyone from Nextwave, really.

Also spiderman

Still rocking the fugly Todd McFarlane design.  Could someone please give Capcom a comic book from the last decade?

They better have classic Rad Spencer model. At least the arm appears to be sausage free.

EDIT: Would "The arm looks kosher" have been a better joke?

The best part is when he faces off against Iron Man, his opening quote is "Just the arm?  Why?  Can't afford the rest of the suit?"
