Auto-resurrects with 5 meters stocked, but she's busy bleeding out so you're on borrowed time.

Wonder if you can tag out...

edit: also she appears to take a lot of damage anyway, which seems like a death sentence in this game.

It looks like she's pretty pathetically weak until she's dropped to 0 HP, at which point she becomes Dark Phoenix for about 10 seconds minus whatever additional pummeling she takes.

Too dull for casual play, too counterable or too broken for tournament play (ha ha), but it is kind of a cute idea.

Taskmaster confirmed, And he isn't a total fucking clone of existing characters (unless whoever tasky stole that sword and bow from show up)

Seemingly voiced by Steven Blum, to boot. Also: I noticed he used Zero's attack right back at him, as well as abusing Spider-Man Web Swing move as his own.

Also: I can't find the video, but apparently if you've got Felicia and Hulk on the same team, and you switch out Hulk for Felicia, he yells out "CATGIRL!"

In the comics his bow is from Hawkeye, who is Sir Not Appearing In This Game

He was spamming some Captain America shield attacks in the air between Spidey Swings. Against Zero it looks like he was just deflecting the projectile.

I think he actually says "Shoto throw" at 2:00 after hip-throwing Haggar, which is silly, but I think it's in character

These people don't want to play MvC3 because it is going to be an interesting game at high levels, Kayin. (Even if it is.) They want to play MvC3 because you can use your favorite characters from the 80s and 90s to beat up your other favorite characters from the 80s and 90s.

I for one am just sad you cannot have an entire team made of Haggars

What we clearly need is Wolverine and Wolverine(Bone Claws) back. Maybe they'll do it in the DLC?

I guess to be genuinely curious as to how the wise old masters see it, what exactly does Akuma's presence do for the roster? Consider that we're looking at a mostly complete roster that is maybe 2/3 the size at best. Also consider the inclusion of another colossal palette swapped loser, Trish. If it's an issue of offering a variety of play-styles, then we're basically looking at an unpopular choice of a skin, particularly given that Capcom and Marvel have no shortage of universes to crib and stretch things from. So naturally, they picked a pretty worthless character in the full scale of the DMC series. If nothing else, at least we can reasonably respect Akuma for being Akuma, even if the first reflex is the gag reflex because "cool, Ryu's dad."

Personally, I just think it's criminally boring to use any roster slot in a fighting game on "just like X, but slightly slower/faster." Smash Brothers was particularly obnoxious for this. I know Akuma's a bit more than that but... cool, Ryu's dad.

Akuma offers a mostly air game going in a diagonal fashion. Without real testing we can only go off of what he was in MvC2. A ryu/ken/sakura with a cool demon flip and a raging demon. If tradition holds true he will do slightly more damage and be made of paper.

Okay this is the fundamental misunderstanding: A character slot is not some immutable position of equal value. "Oh man Roy sucks, why didn't we have a totally unique character"! That was not an option. That was never an option. The idea was that relatively different characters could be made in a cost effective matter. It's not as good necessarily as having more money (though some variations are worth having), but is the reality of the situation. Certain characters cost more money, due to whatever effects or animations or whatever. This allows MORE characters, as opposed to LESS and if the differentiations are done well enough, they work effectively as new characters. Even in Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Ryu and Ken are hugely different once you get good enough to appreciate the variations. Akuma has his diagonal fireballs and teleports, a crazy unblockable super, demon flip, added juggle properties and apparently some good relaunch potential. All from a relatively cheap financial investment.

So yeah, Akuma isn't necessarily as beneficial to the game as some crazy new unique thing, but the crazy unique thing wasn't ever necessarily an option.

The thing with this is that those people are going to play the game for a weak before getting either bored or discouraged by the people they play against online. >:|
