This is getting long so I'll post the partial.

Starter: Mudkip (Lyyke)
Route 101: Poochyena (Inky, because I get the feeling I'll be running into these a lot.)
Route 103: Poochyena (Clyde, yup)
Route 102: Wurmple (Lepida)
Route 104: Poochyena (Blinky, JUSTIFIED)
Petalburg Forest: Shroomish (Mel)
Route 116: Abra (Great ball, GO!) Edith. Inky and Blinky both go down at some point in a trainer battle, but who cares? Clyde stands strong.
Rustboro Tunnel: Whismur. I didn't rename this one by accident.

Rustboro Gym: An Oran Berry and two Super Potions give Roxanne's Nosepass a huge HP pool. But I've spent a lot of time leveling Mel, and he's got Absorb, Stun Spore, and Leech Seed. As soon as Nosepass hits the floor, he's Paralyzed. Leech Seed doesn't stick the first time, but the second application starts draining HP. After that it's a matter of not running out of PP for Absorb. Bad luck ruined me the first time around, but it was no contest with Shroomish. Just to rub it in, Mel learned Mega Drain right after Nosepass dropped.

Rustboro Town: May's Wingull fell to Lepida, who has since grown into a Dustox. Mel handles her Treecko.

Granite Cave: Zubat (Obligatory). Stumble through cave in the dark, because seriously, fuck using Flash. Swap out Obligatory for Clyde when I get back to the Pokemon Center. Level up until everyone is in the mid-to-high teens, evolving Edith in the process.

Dewford Gym: I've got a pure Psychic type, a Bug/Poison who knows Psychic and Flying moves, and a Flying/Poison that doesn't have a Flying move yet (when does Zubat get Wing Attack again?) but can whittle things down while taking 1 HP per hit from Fighting attacks. This was a cakewalk. Afterward, Whismur goes into the PC and Clyde comes back out.

Route 110: Electrike (TheShocker). While I vow to put it into storage and never use it  because one of the few things I remember about this game is how much Electrike SUCKS, May's Grovyle takes out Obligatory and Edith with Pursuit. Whismur and TheShocker replace them. Grind grind grind up the level difference... >:| Clyde and Whismur both evolve.

Route 117: Marrill (Bob)

Verdanturf: I teach Loudred Rock Smash to get through the tunnel, before the game points out that I can't actually use it until I have another badge.

Mauville Gym: With a Ground-type on my side and Loudred providing backup with a Fighting move against the Steel-types present, this one gave me no problems.

Route 112: Numel (Vesuvius)
Fiery Path: Koffing! (Lyyke KOs with a Tackle crit). Numel! (Lyyke KOs with a Tackle crit). Machop! (Lyyke KOs with a Tackle crit). STOP FUCKING DOING THAT. Machop! Catch it and name it Jann, because I could just get lost in those muscles...

Route 113: Slugma (Hannah). Next fight, Skarmory. FFFFFFFUUUU
Route 114: Swablu (Cuteip).
Meteor Falls: Zubat (LilSlugger).

Mt. Chimney: Maxie's Mightyena takes out LilSlugger.
Jagged Pass: Spoink, given the cautionary name DoNotHug.
Lavaridge Town: I take the Mysterious Egg(tm) as my sixth slot. I swap out the flame-vulnerable Mel for Jann.

Lavaridge Gym: Between infatuation, paralyzation, and general wearing-down of HP over the course of the battle, I switch Lyyke out for Loudred while fighting Flannery's Torkoal. It's immediately oneshotted with Overheat. Jann falls to the same fate, after getting lucky and Overheat missing twice. Torkoal Body Slams Hannah into oblivion. I take out TheShocker and spend his turn using a Paralyze Heal on Lyyke. Torkoal Body Slams and paralyzes TheShocker, but his Static turns around and paralyzes Torkoal right back. Thus emboldened, TheShocker finishes Flannery off with Spark.
Sheesh. With that result, maybe I should have taken the time to level up Bob and used him as a secondary.

With Loudred gone, I need someone else to Smash Rocks. I take Clyde for this purpose.

Mauville City: I bike back and forth to hatch the egg, because I've forgotten what's in it. It's a Wynaut. I name him Boba, so that if he ever evolves he can be WoBobafet. I then unceremoniously dump him into PC storage and get Lepida back out. I spend more time grrrrrinding to even out my party's levels.

Are the names confusing? Right now I have Lyyke the Marshtomp, TheShocker the Manectric, DoNotHug the Spoink, Mel the Breloom, Clyde the Mightyena, and Ledpida the Dustox. Remaining in PC storage are Bob the Marrill, Vesuvius the Numel, Cuteip the Swablu, and Boba the newly-hatched Wynaut.
RIP Inky and Blinky the Poochyenas, Edith the Kadabra, Loudred the Loudred, Obligatory the Zubat and LilSlugger the Golbat, Jann the Machop, and Hannah the Slugma.

Excellent.

As for my own...

Day 4: Finally finish getting most of my dudes to level 10-11! Draculette is only level 7, but I think I can go investigate the Gym with her out first to soak some experience while the others clean house. BUT A SUDDEN OBSTRUCTION APPEARS!?

ALSO SURPRISE GUEST CAMEO

Went to Mr. Pokemon's house and got an egg and a pokedex. On the way back I met my rival. His puny stolen pokemon was no match for CHOMPASAUR, who is being raised by a nice trainer. I've heard that pokemon who are raised by bad trainers become bad too. :(

After I egg Dr. Elm's house, some bitch makes me watch her catch some dumb pokemon. Then I get pokeballs and I catch some MOTHERFUCKING POKEMON!

Shitpile the dumb squirrel.

Hootz the owl

Drilldick the pupa.

And now I am in Bird Gym Town.

Edit: I forgot the spikes on the back of Chompasaur oh noooooooooooooooo.

I think this is going to be my last nuzlocke attempt for Fire Red:

A trainer in Giovanni's gym dropped my last grass pokemon ; I ended with two reasonably leveled pokemon - my Jolteon, Carrotcake and my Charizard, Match. I didn't bother recording the list of fatalities throughout, but the ones that really hurt:

Sashimi - Gyarados, killed by Selfedestruct
Berry - Butterfree (my best pokemon, btw), killed by Critical Selfdestruct
Salt - Graveller, killed by a fire type move by an enemy only five levels higher than it, what. the. fuck.
Mirepoix - Vileploom; Killed by a lucky hit in Giovanni's gym

I also lost two level 20 water types I was leveling to deal with blaine after losing Sashimi - Calamari, a Tentacool, and Escargot, an Omanyte.

Up until cinnabar island I had a dream team - I had no reason whatsoever to believe that I wouldn't roll the elite four - I destroyed articuno, I burnt through every trainer prior to Blaine, but the pokemon mansion was too much. Self destruct and poison types everywhere. Doing the Nuzlocke playthrough, I can honestly say that Fire Red is total dog shit for this playstyle - you will encounter huge swaths of poison type pokemon and selfdestructers and building a balanced team is almost impossible - my recommendation is to start with charmander and level up until you have a charmeleon with metal claw before fighting Brock - it was the only way I was able to beat Brock's geodude and Onix. If you don't get an oddish around Cerulean city, you should probably start over because Misty will be impossible.

With Char- as your starter, you can get a Jolteon and a Magikarp without too much trouble, and hopefully you'll get an Oddish, which gives you coverage, unfortunately if you lose any of these pokemon in the very late game like I did, building up replacements from your PC is more trouble than it's worth. Wild pokemon battles give zilch for XP, and getting the EXP share to speed up alt leveling is not an option in Nuzlocke since you have to have caught/evolved at least 50 different types of pokemon. I managed 38 total by the time I was nearing Victory Road - YMMV.

Someone much more careful than me could probably have beaten the game with the team I had - I had a lot of really solid monsters, but I just didn't think the investment in hyper repel in the pokemon mansion was worth it - obviously, I was wrong. I can't help but question the logic behind some of the late dungeon choices - the second half of the game you're basically only fighting koffings and grimers, and psychic pokemon ad nauseum. The only break in the monotony is to fight through two paths of water trainers prior to Cinnabar island, which does NOT help level up new pokemon to deal with blaine.

Yeah, an army of Gravelers and Koffings would be pretty ridiculous... Incredible effort though, brother.

Steel Claw Charmander or early Mankey/Nidoran were changes made to make Brock defeatable. So, starting with Charmander in the original Red/Blue used to be significantly worse. D:

Was it just too tedious to put the guy you want to level in front, then immediately swap to one of your actual fighting mons? That's how you Exp Share before the Exp Share. You could also just backtrack to easier areas and grab a handful of losers for your pokedex and toss them into your PC to rot. Remember, Nuzlocke only has the two original rules.

But again way to go Shinra, you are a true Kanto hero.

OK another comic. I couldn't think of a good gag for "I saw a Gastly but Draculette was out of PP for Leech Life and everybody else was too high level so I killed it and cried a little then wrote in my diary."

Also I am proposing here a formal apology to my Rival, Jerkbrg, for his initial terrible rendering in Episode 1.

So Day 5: Clear Sprout Tower comically over-leveled but ;_; Gastly noooo. Sometimes.. sometimes Grindan is not the answer.

Flippant Advicedogging aside, it's a good idea if you can keep your Ghost-type alive to let him take point against anything that might Explode at you. Banette got me through the Geodudes and Gravelers in the Magma Base in my playthrough. The Gastly line is immune to Poison status, too.

I missed the DARK CAVE, so I went back and caught ROCKY.

Stop pretending you are a fighting type dude you are only a rock.

I cleared out sprout tower and caught a GHOST

HOW CAN I SEE YOU I DON'T HAVE A SILPH SCOPE?

After going through the mandatory bellsprout genocide, I killed a bunch of bird pokemon and drew a bad picture of it.

Fuck you egg. I am just going to walk around until you hatch. I am not going to give you the satisfaction of being useless while I could have six real pokemon.
