FOR THE PUBLIC RECORD

Mongrel, you are a wonderful man.  I hope my capricious wandering didn't muck with your night too much.

Also I bought a durian.  More on this later.

Well, August is almost upon us. Let's recap, shall we?

1. Fre- er, cody suggested September. Mongrel and I agreed. Is cody still available?

2. Americanoes Malikial, and maybe Joxam, want to attend this year. That still true?

3. A cottage weekend was suggested. Details of where, when and how are forthcoming?

I would also like to hear status updates from the rest of you!

I'm still heeeeeeere.

Exact plans are contingent on:

1) Is the offer of a cottage still open? If so, when is this offer valid and where is the cottage?

2) Also if yes, does everyone like the idea of cottage weekend?

3) If no, how many of you seriously think you can make it to Toronto in September and what weekend dates are good for you? Can we try and get a consensus?

#3 is important because with enough folks, a hotel room can be cheaply booked and split, but this must be done in advance. Or, if only 2 or 3 of you are coming, we can go with the same thing we had last time: hang out at Mongrel's pad.

In the absence of anyone else having a preference, I am going to roughly peg it to mid-September, just to get a date on the dartboard. Say the weekend of the 18th-19th? We'll move this when and if people's circumstances dictate.

I'm living in Ottawa now as you may or may not know, but I'll be back in Cambridge for the Civic holiday weekend. I dunno if I have time for some sort of other big long drive though.

If SCD's cottage offer holds up, this may wind up being closer to Ottawa anyway. Stay Tuned.

My uncle's in the hospital again to have his OTHER foot amputated* (they might be able to save this knee, which will be good, he still might be able to drive and move himself around his home) this week. Plus we don't have passports and I hear the turn around is quite longer in the last few years. At least, when we did the picture for them at the photo studio we were supposed to tell people sixty to ninty days. William and I are both right out for this year, I think.

*This is the uncle that had the leg amputation last year.

Cottage bit is a no go for now.  Plan's A and B for work this summer fell through due to the aftershocks of the story I told you about myself last time together, so I'm living off of bursaries and doing school full time.  So my lack of capital to throw down on significant rent.  This idea will have to go on the backburner well into summer 11.  (that aftershock is well done with by the way, but it came three weeks too late)

I can do camping in early september and late august.  I might be able to squeeze that through, but I am operating in broke-ass mode for the time being.

So, who can come?

And if you can come, is that a tentative "I can come", or a certain one?

Just come on over sometime Buge.
