Who's your favorite superhero?

So who's your favorite superhero, dudes?

Mine's Batman because he can be interpreted in so many different ways. Also he had the raddest cartoon.

Out of all the Green Lanterns, Hal is my favorite. I can't help it. Followed by Guy.

Favorite Flash? Now that one is tricky.

The answer is...
Zolomon
Edit: Upon further thinking, you know what? I don't really CARE for a lot of superheros. I just like the idea of them and their villains.
Batman is probably the best example of this.  I don't really like Batman. At all. I pretty much just keep up because I love his villains so much. Most of the times I read him anyway are when he's in a Justice League or it's an animated show.
Superman doesn't even register because I don't care for him and his villains are terrible.

All the guys I picked (Flash, Green Lantern, etc) not only are interesting and I like them as characters, but they have interesting villains. The difference is, I read the comics for the heroes and the villains being good are just a bonus.

DOUBLE EDIT: You know what? Plastic man doesn't fall into that category. But fuck it. It's Plastic Man. The guy has a comic that's him going down the street to buy a sandwich and it's gold.

Batman. A thousand times Batman. Batman is like, the only super hero I give a shit about. First off, I hate how Super Heroes are presented. "Oh man, I got some lame origin story and I totally just got whatever ability handed to e on a silver platter". ZZZZZ. Shonen crap manages to handle this stuff better, because I do love super bullshit powers -- but showing a little bit of effort to have them goes a long way.

Batman ain't got none of that. What does Bruce Wayne have. A trust fund, dead parents, and some good DNA. None of those things alone means a damn, but together he combines them into being not only a competitive Super Hero, but THE BEST Super Hero. Everyone rags on Sups for being OP, but BATMAN is the real god tier. Batman > Everything. He is RESPECTED by writers. While in a big cluster fuck he might get thrown around, any time the spot light is on him, he'll bust out some bullshit and win through cleverness and preparation There are other self made heroes obviously (Tony Stark is pretty entertaining as a genius/drunk), but none of them get the respect or have the same 'blood sweat and tears' vibe that Batman gets. In the mainstream comics, Batman is as good as it gets.

Heh. My first thought is that it's a toss-up between Rorschach and The Comedian.

I'll have to think about this. Like Lottel, I don't really care for superheroes (I think I've been pretty up-front about that), though I guess I'm not against the concept in principle.

There's a couple I like..sometimes they go in phase... Wonderwoman. For now.  I did enjoy the whole color spectrum from the Lantern's. Yay Blackest Night.

Also, right now. Batgirl. The new one.

While we're on the topic, 'Captain Boomerang' has to be the second-worst name for a superhero I've ever heard.

I like Batman but really honestly he's getting way overplayed these days.  Plus the assertion that he has no superpowers is bullshit.  Last I checked, the average person isn't born with INFINITE MONEY.

So as a substitute I'm gonna go with Daredevil.  Yeah he has some kind of Bullshit Sense because of toxic waste or some crap, but for the most part any amount of fighting ability or wealth he has he gained from hard work and determination.  Plus he makes a pretty hot troll.

Captain Boomerang is a Flash villain. And everyone makes fun of his name, even in the comics.

Gotta go with Flash. Super-speed has always seemed like it'd be a really cool power to have, and Wally West is a great character. He nails the "regular guy with superpowers" thing, and his transition from sidekick to full-fledged hero is some of the best character development in comics.

Barry Allen, however, = zzzzzz

That reminds me that the only time I have ever really cared about a superhero was when I read that Squirrel Girl's lips taste like hazelnut. :kowhyee:

When I get a girl I'm gonna have to whip up some lip balm and make that happen.

I can't decide.  I like Deadpool's personality the best, but that doesn't make him a better superhero...  My favorite superpower would be that of um..... I guess green lantern (hah, I don't need to specify on this because they all have the same power) but that's only because Venom is a villain  I really just like the power to make shit out of thin air, Venom simultaneously has and doesn't have that power, but he has the added bonus of all of spiderman's powers and shapeshifting.  Green lantern has it more so, but it's limited and neither of them can make shit out of thin air that stays there.  So then, my favorite power would be that of .... Mxyzptlk?

Anyway, in terms of comics, I'm really not sure, as I haven't read much of superhero comics for a long ass time as I find them to be far too convoluted with the multiple authors per hero, multiple timelines and multiple universes.

So um.... I'll go with Powdered Toast Man.  Because he saved and killed the Pope voiced by Frank Zappa.

I dunno, sometimes I think the definition of the superhero can be stretched, and sometimes I think it's stretched too far. Where does Conan qualify? He doesn't have any powers, yet he's clearly superior to normal men.

But can you count Adam Warlock, then? He's also more powerful than a normal person, but he spends most of his time away from anyone who would be considered 'normal,' and never concerns himself with mundane needs or activities.

Both are really divorced from anything we'd consider as a normal life, yet they seem so compelling... Y'know, I'm just gonna go with Power Girl.

Superheroes almost exclusively means the cape and mask set.  Conan, while stronger and more cunning than normal men, fits the adventure/barbarian archetype.  It's not necessarily powers, as that would exclude Batman and the Spirit, but more to do with the flamboyant costumes and the locked in battle with a rogues gallery or arch-nemesis.

I like Silver Surfer. He had a really cool origin story that wasn't cheap at all. He lost his memory for a long time and was sort of a villain unwittingly. He travels the galaxy and can encounter all sorts of crazy stuff while he tries to find his way home while being deeply philosophical about his plight and his peaceful Zen-la morals. Just an other of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's really great characters.

Stan Lee takes enough undeserved credit on his own, no need to help him.
