The bad:
  • Character creation engine seems pretty limited in terms of colors; I couldn't even make a blond guy (was trying to make Frivolous Suit)
I'm pretty sure there was a blond option in the hair color picker.

There is, Thad is just  :slow:

You want something to really complain about, unskipable cut scenes.  Including the 1 minute intro one.

There was a yellow option.  When I slid my slider to it, I got pink.

Could be a Linux issue.  I COULD take a screenshot if you want to continue to assume I'm too stupid to drag an arrow to point to a color.

I just gave my character a top hat, spectacles, and big goofy mustache.  Strangely enough, seeing as there isn't a full beard option, what I wound up with was as close to me/saturn (for those of you who forgot, we look almost exactly alike) as the character generator could make it... with a top hat, now that I think about it anyway.

No Wii version (assuming this is due to Nintendo returning to the "let's turn the blood into sweat" mentality that did them so much good in the 1990's and getting squeamish about enemies named Fruit Fucker, but wouldn't be surprised if it showed up on WiiWare at some later date either)

I don't think Nintendo's quite as squeamish about blood anymore.

I realize this is going to put me in the minority, but I actually like having all the random NPCs in the panel saying the same things.  Most of these people are just here to add color and a little bit of life where it would be appropriate to see someone running and screaming.  They're scenery, basically, and I appreciate the game encouraging you to treat them as such.

Kind of sucks that they did exactly the opposite for the ACTUAL scenery.  On the other hand, if you're going to try and interact with every object in a particular category, I'd much rather it be the category of things that don't move rather than the category of things that do.

Seeing the character you created in both 2D cutscenes and 3D environments is pretty great.  I wish it were possible for them to do something similar in Champions Online, but that's just impossible.

So people are suggesting that the ddf person, short for Denis Duckfat, may be Denis Dyack, the Too Human guy who got really pissy when Penny Arcade made a comic about him being defensive of Too Human, completely missing the point that the comic was agreeing with him/being supportive of the bullshit he has to put up with.

I finally got around to playing this game.

By the way, I still have only a standard television. Surprisingly, I don't consider my whole existence wanting for lack of HDTV. However, it would be really nice if developers stopped assuming I had an HDTV and made the text in text-heavy titles slightly larger. It's kind of a strain on the eyes, you see.

AND MY AXE!

I mean, me too.

The uptick in difficulty from the tutorial level to Hoboville was sudden and welcome.

I had that problem. If you're missing the same one I did, look on a bench in the first "vertical" alley to the right of the gate for a wiggling green bag of some sort. If that's not what you're missing then look for a wiggling boot near (I think) the entrance to the screen with the evil gate. Those are the only really unobvious ones I can think of, unless you somehow missed a gull corpse.

Penny Arcade Adventure Episode 2 is up. Navigating the XBox360 version is much easier now that you can toggle focus of nearby crap.

Also, you can wear The Silent One's clothes.

On the other hand, the text is still incredibly tiny and hard to read on a standard television

Aren't XBox 360 games semi-purposely designed to be illegible on 480x televisions?  (Can't call them "standard" any more, grumble grumble.)
