Er, to be clear, the ones I used are changed. Which means if you use them in your areas you'll suddenly have crazy backgrounds.

If you participated in EK2, you are now considered to have submitted a level to me already. Additionally, Bongo Bill and Zaratustra have actually given me placeholder levels in varying states of completion. I like what I'm seeing!

As for myself, I'm taking three custom objects (18-20). My tileset still needs work, but my main area's major geometry is basically finished. I will probably be replacing a gradient and adding music, but not just yet.

On the time limit: as I said in the other thread, I pretty much planned to ignore the time limit from the very beginning, but I wanted to inspire a sense of urgency and goad people into action. If you have ambitions, don't cut them down just because there won't be time to make everything; focus on just making what you can, and the schedule will accommodate your needs.

Certain details are predictably proving more difficult than anticipated to build out of Knytt Stories tilesets, and my social calender is filling up rapidly, to say nothing of Dragon Quest IX. I am on schedule for my mini-area, but wish to express a conservative ETA of this Friday for my main area.

A smaller area is fine too. I'd advise trying to cut down on size and increase detail and quality if you're having creative issues. Generally players prefer that kind of design, too, if Portal is any indication.

I know I've certainly had to cut back on my original plan just because I figured players would get tired of it.

I was out of town for a week and a half, but the first thing I did when I got back was spend about 3 hours working on my area.

I have three rooms.

I'll probably delete them.

We've passed the deadline. At this point, any pretense of a time limit is clearly illusory. I need to start poking you guys with sticks, though.

I have three rooms.

I'll probably delete them.

During Exquisite Knorpse 2, I created and subsequently deleted a total number of rooms that exceeded the number that I was personally responsible for in the final version of the level. I erased my first version of my submission for Brentai's section, and the boss in that area went through a lot of changes. I'd also made an area that sort of had a similar concept to the Space Bandit's hideout, but I was never satisfied with it and it kept growing larger and larger until I just scrapped the entire thing. I also wound up cutting out a section of unfinished rooms connecting Kayin's area to the world map and some mountaintops that used to be where Bongo's flight to the moon is now.

I'm actually about 75% done with my area. However, I by default am going to be the last person to turn mine in, because I need everyone else's mini-area before I can.

Where is everyone else in terms of completion? I hope you guys are still working on this.

I've been PMing a couple people about this, but I got too caught up in wolfgames and such. Since school is approaching for at least some of our members, now is the time for me to start twisting the thumbscrews again.

I've basically hit a wall -- I can't do anything more until people send me their stuff.

This is why I was wary of using an open ended format: The turn based deadline at least seems to produce results.

So I'm 1/8th done.
