Norondor asked me to give this to you guys:

Furry Juggalos

Also come on he is FREELY AVAILABLE on aim it's not like you can't ever talk to him.

Quote
Frocto: I will give an official Norondor statement in the thread as to why you are depriving us of the greatest giant to shudder the earth beneath his iron feet
norondor: um my feet are regular feet.

Guys, I'm sorry we've lost so much inertia. It's entirely my own fault. As I've mentioned here and elsewhere, I managed to corrupt my Windows install in a really boneheaded way, and while I'll be able to get all the data back, I can't access anything until I reinstall Windows. This would have been a lot simpler if I could actually find my discs, but circumstances are leading me to believe that my former roommate probably loaned it out to a friend and never got it back, the same way he inevitably did with his copy.

In the interim, I'm reduced to using the PS3's janky built-in browser to visit the boards; I'd been using Julie's computer, but her old Mac chokes horribly any time it tries to load Mongrel's avatar and signature, and apparently Safari doesn't have a good way of just fucking turning images off, and installing adblockers or viable alternative browsers requires administrator rights and it's just more trouble than it's worth to bother with.

So: sorry for the delay.

Just installed a copy of Windows XP: Shitty Edition on my new hard drive; we thought my motherboard might have been fried, but I just wired it up wrong. I'm now copying all the data off my old drive with my new SATA-to-USB connector before switching the drives out to see if the Recovery Console will salvage my old install, or whether I'm going to have to jury-rig my registry somehow so I don't spend days updating all my drivers and reinstalling my software.

WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY is that, computationally, I may not have escaped from the labyrinth just yet, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you said you were interested in participating but you still haven't made anything yet, please put something together! I want you to have the chance to participate.

After you get your computer running, Newbie, I strongly suggest you start the standard turn order you used for EK1 and 2, having each person do their area in order. I'm worried we're not going to get this finished/released before your wedding and honeymoon delays it for another month or more.

Alright, cool. If people want to just use the original turn structure, I'm fine with that. Next issue: one of the things that I wanted to do this time around was to show each contributor more of the level. I've always found it a lot easier and more interesting to create when I'm reacting to the the things other people have done, and there are several things I made last time that I couldn't have made without my privileged perspective. My notion this time was that, rather than only seeing rooms that contain open exits or entrances, I'd just let each contributor see the entirety of the contributed areas on either side of their section.

So, for example: as soon as Lobst turns in the beginning area, Kayma would get the level with Lobst's area and Sush's area, and he builds his section connecting them. Stush would then get the level with only his area and Kayma's visible, in case he wants to make any updates to his section. Next McDohl would get the level with only Stush's area and mine visible to connect between, etc.

The end result is that everybody's seen more of the total level, but only the areas they're designing adjacent to. Does this sound like something you'd be interested in doing, or should we do everything the same way as we did last time?

Well, I know personally (my level already being mostly complete aside) I would ignore and not look at stuff. I get what you're saying about how knowing more about the level can contribute to creativity, but for me, it's just not worth spoiling the experience of playing.

I'm not against using the idea if others want to, though. As long as you don't show my area, since it's the ending.

Yeah, as the Grand Finale, I don't think you need to worry about anybody seeing your area early. The only glimpse the average contributor will get is the subsections you commissioned.

OK, cool. Yeah, I personally have no problem with that idea then. Others can make up their own minds, I think.

Lobst checked in with me a couple days ago; she's nearly finished with her area, and then the level will be on its way.

Personally, I'm not waiting for my turn, and I'm finally making good progress. My NPCs are going to be less ambitious than I'd planned, but it's probably going to work better this way.

"He", "his"? Motherfucker, you'd better be making a joke I'm not in on.

Anyway, my run-n'-jump bit is finished. Nothing re: the intro, Friday part, or designer's room just yet, but I'll let you know.

Why is my dino lady headless? Fixing this.
