I didn't say we should ban Heavy/Medic combo, I'm just staying that, most likely, all the strategy will be around moving your combo into positions and breaking up the enemies combo.  It might be good, it might be bad.  I suppose we'll see!

I'm going to go out and say the standard team will be Heavy Medic and two utilities, probably most of the time a Soldier and a Demo, but with such teams with a high degree of player skill variance, not to mention personal tastes, I wouldn't be surprised to see other things, too.

Soldier/medic seems equally viable. But anyways at 4v4 I think the focus would more involve maintaining more than just a combo, since each person is significantly more important and mobility isn't as necessary.

Neeeeh, I'll believe it if it happens.  My experiences with Shadow Moses Pre-night KOTH fuckarounds have shown me pretty conclusively that at 8 people, heavy medic is a fucking wrecking ball.  Especially considering mobility won't be nearly as important because their is only one point to be contested.

The problem more tends to be organizational. Its not that theres necessarily a problem with heavy medic, but it forces people, during fuckaround time, to be super serious. When people are playing serious from the get go, that changes things.

...and there you have it!  YOUR TEAMS.

Now, get together, all of you, and do three things:

1. Come up with a suitably awesome team name!  One to strike fear in your opponent's heart!
2. Come up with an equally awesome three-letter code for your team, to be used in Tournament Mode so I can glance at the scoreboard and easily know which team is which!  It should also strike fear in to the opponent's heart!
3. Come up with an impossibly awesome team logo so I can use them in highlight reels and other purposes!  Use them as sprays to strike fear in your opponent's heart!

As far as when the season will start now, does anyone have objections with Monday, the 23rd of August?

Malikial!?

EWWWW

I'm surprised you guys keep including Demoman in the probable team make ups over Scout.

Well, I would say that Scout is an easier class for some of the nublier players in this tourney, but at the same time we must consider the uses of spamming.  Their is but ONE point of contention, so just filling it with nades and stickies will do a lot to swing victory in your favor.  Much more than a scout dancing out of effective range and trying to find an opening to kill the Medic.  I suppose, at least.  Just theoryfortressing, here.

Hey Envy & Co... team GOLDEN FIST? Or some variation thereof?

Also, I know little about comp games, but one thing I've heard over and over is 'scout is the only borderline OP class for comps'. Take that however you will.

I'm pretty sure that'll be team #1.

Unless my team wants to pick something else, I'm going to assume Objectively The Best will be our name, and use the tag:
BEST-*name*
