I heard somewhere that views don't count unless you watch the whole thing.

Closing on 100,000 dislikes.

I don't get it.  Why doesn't he just get all those people he hired to follow him on Twitter to go over there and click the Like button?

The Partisans - Rick Perry - Weak, man.

So I guess it's down to Mitt and Newt now?

Really, just Newt. There is not a lot of realistic scenarios that Romney wins his primary short of Newt dropping out or making the gaffe to end all gaffes.

Though if you listen to Reddit, Ron Paul is totally in the running, you guys.

Newt and Romney are both in trouble now for supporting ethanol.  Dunno how that'll play out.

Ron Paul might get the nomination with almost no coverage, just because everybody else is too busy finding reasons to hate each other/themselves to find someone to actually like.  He'd have to actually win some states on the back half of the primaries, though.

Starting to wonder if it's even possible for an acceptable conservative candidate to even exist.  The parameters for it are both completely contradictory and increasingly non-negotiable.  I really wish the GOP would hurry the fuck up and get to dessert already.

(I suppose Paul getting nommed would do it - what the hell even happens when the majority of conservatives find themselves under a candidate who's basically an unrelated third party?)

Like I've been saying for months, Bachmann.

I think Paul falls under the Perot effect. Go ahead, throw your primary vote away!

Before I respond, I would like to clarify whether you are joking or enjoying some delicious Kool-Aid.

Just going off what I've seen on dailykos and my own observations. Likely primary voters hate Romney. They have since the primary season started.

Yes, but they're not gonna flock to Newt Gingrich.

Yeah, and have you noticed how long their last 6 alternatives to him have lasted?  (Palin, Trump, Bachmann, Perry, Christie, Cain -- have I missed any?)

But you have a point -- it's not like there's any recent precedent for a Republican candidate coming in third in Iowa and still getting the nomination or anything.

Guys, guys. Remember, Ron Paul is not different from the GOP. He still supports drugs being illegal, women being told what to do, and for nobody to have an education.

Remember, there is no good GOP candidate. It basically comes down to a decision of whether you want to be stabbed in the left or the right nut.

The chances of the party being torn in two post-election are creeping slowly upward. I mean, the overall chance is still low, but clearly their disregard for their own self-interest is well-established. All they need now is crest that ridge where their hatred for their "Fellow GOPers" is greater their hatred for LIBBRUHLS.

You know, in the aftermath of the Tea Party's meteoric rise in the media, many conventions were planned and organized. Almost all of them ended up collapsing as it was revealed that the organizers or someone on the committee was using the opportunity to bilk money out of every other Teabagger that he could. I felt this was a wonderful metaphor for the Republican party as a whole, who have long been a loose coalition of scammers, exploiters and thieves who begrudgingly stick together because they don't want the government telling them they can't scam, exploit or steal from people.

My point is, if the past wretchedness of the party isn't enough to split them up, I can't fathom what future wretchedness could actually do it.

Hmmm... It'd be interesting to see a study of whether progressive or conservative parties have a history of fracturing. My gut-reaction is to say leftists tend to splinter more, but I may be biased in America where we have 5,000 different leftists groups because they can all argue over one thing.
