Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day (HD)Today saw my first Alterac Valley victory (read: first time my entire team didn't just try to rush the Alliance last point and realize all our stuff is gone before they can actually cap it) and one of the best turn-arounds I've seen in a BG in Gilneas, in large part to Smiler and me leading an assault on the waterworks followed by myself and a single (astoundingly good) warlock keeping most of the other team busy at the lighthouse for a good half of the match.
Before any of that though, I was hanging around Undercity when Alliance started to attack. Thinking it was a huge group trying to take out Sylvanas I proposition trade chat for help but lol trade chat the general consensus is "we're not there, it's not our problem". Finally I run into them, and it turns out to just be a group of five guys hanging out at the entrance to the elevators, catching people trying to go into the city that aren't unflagged yet.
Being a rogue, I do what rogues do best when they're outnumbered, and annoyed the hell out of them. Everything from jumping into the group and dancing on each of them while unflagged to standard sap and runs, until basically the entire hall is flooded with AoE at all times. At one point I'm able to get the paladin on his lonesome and get him bubbled and trying to lead me back to his friends, but I get him down one of the other elevator halls and while the guards keep him distracted I explode all over his back, taking him out.
Next the mage. A while back I picked up the
[Highborne Soul Mirror] from archaeology and immediately saw its PvP potential (it makes a ghosted replica of you, nearly the same opacity as when you see through stealth) but never had a chance to use it. It ended up working as perfectly as I could have hoped. After taking out the paladin the mage blinks over towards me. Stealth, round the corner, throw up the image, vanish. He follows around and blows every cooldown he has and AoEs the fuck out of all the nothing, thinking he got me off-guard. Turns out mages with no protection or mana aren't very hard to kill.
Throughout the whole time the hunter with them was the most annoyed at my antics. /spit spamming at my dancing and throwing flares everywhere constantly when I was sapping. So of course when it was down to him and two healers he was my focus for sap abuse. Watching the elevator timing and his (figurative) rage meter I finally cheap shot him and gun it. Popping a trinket to chase me, determined to stop me from escaping after my obvious slip-up he darts into the elevator with me, leaving his friends and even his pet behind. Only one of us stepped out at the bottom.
Unfortunately the druid hearthed out and it seemed like too obvious a trap for me to jump on him, but I did catch the priest on his own trying to take out Brill quest givers, all-in-all it was good tiiiiiiiiiiiiiimes.
