LP2 is on sale today, on Steam, for $20.

A bunch of you nerds have this on your wishlist on Steam.

Bal, Ziiro, and I have already obtained it; this post is here to direct you to purchase it to play with us so you will have a full team of four.

Bear in mind this is a game where this happens.

Isn't this a port? Will it play well with keyboard + mouse?

that's a good question with a very interesting answer! the answer will cost you 3,000,000 credits.

i have never heard any complaints about the controls whatsoever, and also, it's a shooter, so it should be fine, no?

that boss fight looked sweet to start but actually seemed to get pretty boring and repetitive. I kinda want more out of my games than "do the same thing over and over"

So in my attempt to make sure everything was updated and running smoothly, I needed to do two three Games for Windows Live updates. Be sure you actually go to the online feature and make sure you can customize a character and do some training.

The ways in which you can aid one another in this game are fucking amazing. Transferring thermal energy to an ally, replacing the empty gun on an ally's mech with a full one mid fucking combat, repairing said mech, jumping a big three seater mech and laying fucking waste while the fourth guy runs around getting objectives done as he team rides around in that three seater providing what might be called covering fire, but is actually absolute devastation.

It is a god damned crime that this game slipped under the radar.

I've never seen a boss fight in any video game (besides a few rpgs) that wasn't "dodge devastating attacks until this pattern appears, then attack, then repeat 2-3 times." And in the RPGs it's just "whittle his health down for god's sake why does he have so much health oh shit"

The boss we just fought may have had a pattern, but I honestly couldn't tell you what it was due to how chaotic the fight was. Basically the pattern was "fuck fuck fuck, hide god damnit, ok take a shot oh shit now he's pissed fucking run for it"

If the comparisons to monster hunter are true, the enemies don't really have patterns, but they do have a variety of specific attacks with different properties, range and stuff like that, but they also have different tells when they are about to do them. So you have to keep and eye for those, you can even bait enemies into doing certain things but those things are based on your position and the things you are doing at that time.

Even watching videos of people who know what they are doing playing monster hunter makes it seem pretty easy and repetitive, but actually managing to play like that is a different story.

The thing about LP2 is that it's about five times faster than Monster Hunter, because of the setting and weapons, etc. There are tells, like the huge alien just opening his gaping maw and you can jump in there and destroy his internal organs if you want, but you have to be positioned right when he even starts doing that, and sometimes instead of being eatien, you fuck it up and he just beats you to death. That's the most obvious tell on the main bosses I've seen so far. Make no mistake though, this isn't sci-fi monster hunter. There is a lot of fighting various forms of infantry and mechs and other similar things. The story is about people fighting other people, they just happen to be on a planet with horrible monsters that sometimes attack.
