also berserker does end up being totally worth it around 13, when they get a 50TP skill that doubles their STR for the next attack!

Shit and ballsacks.  The boss of the
chaos route
of Chapter 2 is a real asshole if you're unprepared/don't have a good weapon finisher skill on your MC.  They seem to have eliminated a lot of tedious grinding/rock throwing, but you're still probably going to have to wail on your own characters during random encounters to get your weapon skill up.  I know many here are FFT veterans so I shouldn't have to tell you this, but definitely take the game's advice of MAKING A BACKUP SAVE DURING MULTI-PART BATTLES DOOFUS.

In other news I am not feeling the love for my dragon much.

I honestly don't end up using finishers all that often, as Mighty Shot and such are usually as good or better over the long run, buuuut

fffffffffff when do you get persuade I want my dang fool skeleton army!

Also: Everything about this game is just really, wonderfully crisp. It moves in and out of battles quickly, you can skip entire conversations, the battlefield is just pleasently colorful and the portraits are excellent (and I almost never like talking head portraits in these things [except for rebelstar tact. com. of course]). Was concerned over the magic effects when the first trailer came out, but they look really, really good here - a fire boulder is as detailed as a rock tile, and it fits.

Do I need to make several decisions in a manner as such as hilter in order to coerce these deathless demonspawn demidoggs as part of my entourage or can I just expect this to happen along a vaguely well-meaning path?

I mean normally this would not matter, but Tactics Ogre as a series is very good at making you feel terrible for the things you have done

have you ever tried to just straight dismiss an extra archer

she is absolutely devastated

you feel awful

Not 100% but I think you have to take the
chaotic (ie. sticking it to the man, MAN)
path to get a necromancer.  Or at the very least, it's supposed to be easier to get this way.

Also I am killing off my generics to feed their skills to my special characters with NO REMORSE.

I honestly don't end up using finishers all that often, as Mighty Shot and such are usually as good or better over the long run, buuuut

Yeah though I had raised my main as a knight and that was the one fight where I couldn't just phalanx and chip away at the boss's health.  It can be easy to get screwed over in this game at certain parts!

Exceptions: shit with ridiculous def, like dragons and golems.

Dragons and Golems just seem to be almost totally immune to piercing damage, which is practically the only thing that makes enemies threatening when you're rolling up with motherfucking Aryscelle and Canopus with +1ed weapons.

Hammers are pretty effective against those guys, as crushing seems to be the least resisted damage type overall.  P.S. the secret best monster in any Ogre game is the octopus.*  Their absence in Ogre Battle 64 was heart-breaking.

*Note: May not actually be the best.

They're quite a slippery foe.

.....

Yeah, they're dicks.  At least they made those early marsh levels easier, though.
