Romosome, McDohl, and Transportation were the last three people we needed to post since the last time I checked the thread; now that all three of them have, everyone's confirmed that they're aware that the game has started.

Current standings:
Niku 1: Bongo Bill
Classic 4: Newbie, Ohak, angry beaver, Zaratustra
Ohak 3: Lee-Ham, Classic, Guild
McDoh 1: Envy
Friend 1: Verde

The following people have yet to vote.

Couple more things:

Q: If I'm a seer type and I have the Crystal Ball, can I get my own result?
A: Yes. The random nature of the ball makes this possible. However, it is also possible to intercept ANOTHER seer-types scry on the same person, making you only think you intercepted your own scry.

Q: Can dead players speak to other dead players?
A: No. Dead players cannot speak about the game to ANYONE except the owner of the Ouija Board. And since they don't know who that is, the owner has to contact them first. Obviously, pretending to have the board and talking to dead players is cheating, so don't do it.

Q: Can I fake being someone else through IRC, making a new account, etc, to get information?
A: No. Also, making anonymous accounts is not allowed. Everything you do in game must be done as yourself.

I will be placing a poll with all the living players in it (and the No Lynch option) starting on Day 2. Voting for players should be marked there, as well as in the thread. This is only to make it easier to keep track of who has how many votes.

Don't vote in it if you're not playing, obviously. For a vote to be official, it only NEEDS to be in the thread, but please vote in the poll as it makes my job a lot easier.

Yes. A No lynch vote is allowed.
Just on day 1 (as has been done in some other games) or every day?

Every day. No lynch option has been a default part of my games for awhile now. Sorry I didn't mention it sooner, it has been a while since we've played.

We have a 1/3 chance of hitting scum today if we lynch. We have a 0/3 chance if we don't.

So you're saying we have a 2/3 chance of killing an innocent based on die rolls and revengevotes?

Classic is ahead in votes!  I vote for Koah just to tie things up and make everything come down to the exciting wire.

So you're saying we have a 2/3 chance of killing an innocent based on die rolls and revenge votes?

In that case, how come Day 1 isn't always a no lynch day? Because it's the recourse of spineless fence-sitters?

Because you can't kill THEM at night, but they can kill YOU at night. We have to get them before they get us.

While this is true, you neglect to mention that we are much more likely to kill another innocent than actually kill a baddie. So while the lynch is our only weapon against evil, its misuse can be much more devastating to our cause than not using it at all.

It's hard to get information on the first day, but voting for a no-kill reveals far less information. Killing someone at more-or-less random is bad from a numbers perspective, but it can enable more successful strategic moves later in the game.

Friday, is editing posts allowed? I am going to assume No, and forge valiantly onward with this double post.

Voting for nobody can be a good move on day 1 when nobody knows anything, but on each successive day, barring extraordinary circumstances of the sort that have actually occurred in Vampires vs Werewolves games, it becomes less useful.

I definitely agree with what you're saying, and I hadn't considered the potential a lynching on the first day could have later down the road. I also agree that the "No-Lynch" is progressively less useful each passing day, but I was really just responding to Guild, who really seems to be champing at the bit to have someone killed. The "No-lynch" is a viable option, at least for day one.

Guild has been pretty quick to point the finger at anyone... Anyone but himself.

No lynch.

The chance of hitting an innocent is way too high, and besides, most of us actually want to play at least one round of the game.
