Oh my god, if the actual builder is that streamlined and simple, this is going to be insane.

Niku, this may tickle your fancy

EDIT: Video removed by user. Basically, the editor is integrated into Portal 2 itself, is extremely simple and intuitive, while still allowing you to construct extremely complex test chambers, and the whole thing is seamlessly integrated with the Steam Workshop, allowing you to both upload your chambers, and download others, without ever leaving the game. It's looks mega-rad.

Quick. Someone convince Gabe to buy out Bioware. Sure the games will take twice three four times as long to make, but DAMN will they be awesome.

Gabe would have to personally murder John Riccitiello with his bare hands to even get a shot at that.

literally my only complaint about this is that every fan made portal map or mod i ever tried was awful, either being head slappingly simple or stupidly obtuse without ever hitting that perfect balance that the game usually managed to do

hopefully with easier tools people with actual design sense will step up to the plate

I'll probably just stick to the ones made by people I know (I'm sure you guys will do a decent enough job) or the few that Valve actually mentions in their blog.

I fully expect to have Niku levels to play since some of us never had Powered Up.

It's not like there's even a question where this is headed.

That interface is so smooth and simple it's almost erotic.

Did Valve get all the people who fled from Maxis after EA absorbed them? Or are they just picking up their discarded, bloody crown?

Yes I'm in purple-prose writer mode no I will not sit down fine I will go to sleep

Making the maps is almost more fun than playing the maps. That's a pretty impressive god damned achievement.

I made three maps so far (plus a really crap one that only appears for friends). One has crushers, of sorts.

I played the one featuring flip switches. I've got a simple one published myself. I think I have the whole board on my friends list, so just click Friend's Items. It... was fun to make.

A new map. This one is pretty long, I think.
