To anyone who doesn't feel like watching the 27 minute video cold, this game is a tactical shooter where you plan a move that takes five seconds to execute and then both players' moves are done simultaneously. You can run simulations of your move to see if it will work out (there's no randomness here - if you die in the sim you'll die when you send the plan in), and a big part of the game is figuring out what the enemy is going to do with his own units and how you can cover every possibility. More time is spent planning your moves than anything else.
Moves, once submitted, go to the server and then once both players have submitted their moves they get to watch what happens. It's kind of like play by email in that you can get up and walk away if you so choose and just wait to watch the outcome/send in your next move.
This is a really fun game. Missions range from standard elimination to hostage rescue, with fog of war (called simply "darkness" in this game) optional. Right now the multiplayer servers are fragmented, which means you have to get all your friends on the same server, but that's a temporary issue caused by the devs not realizing it would take off as it did.
