The more I've been reading about this game and remembering my time with Saint's Row 2 on Xbox the more excited I get for this game. I put 80-90 hours into SR2, and that's only because I ran out of people to play the co-op missions with.

I played so much that I recall I became a sort of horrible force of nature. Different challenges completed to 6 gave out some crazy perks. Doing a certain challenge set to 6 would give unlimited shotgun ammo, for example. In the end, I had unlimited ammo for every weapon type, unlimited stamina, could fall from any distance and in general I was a complete badass.

Getting the no fall damage perk made explosives and vehicle impacts a complete joke. Evidently, the falling damage from being ragdoll'd was at least half of any explosive damage I would sustain.

One thing I'm having a small issue with is I can't seem to make my same character from SR2. There's something subtly different with the faces. I can't seem to get it as... angular? I'm not really sure. One thing that I'm hoping is also wrong is that I hope there's more masks or helmets in the game, if I can't make a face to my liking.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to faces.

$90 for an unbundled PC game?

Don't get me wrong Saint's Row is the best series out there right now and is basically unlimited fun for everyone but seriously?

That's a screenshot of AUS I believe. Found it on reddit.

Here's the Store page. I saw it on my own this morning but failed to get a screenshot. I'll grab one when I get home.

It's pretty good. Gun play is pretty much the same (for better or worse) as is driving. Mission intensity is exactly as you would expected it to be from that video of the plane stuff.

It's exactly what I expected. No better, no worse. A nice change I didn't know about was specialist Gang units, should you get enough Stars:

The Japanese Tron-like Gang's specialist unit are girls in a skirts on rollerblades that wield fucking thunder hammers that fucks up vehicles. They also warp around like the Reaper Conduits from Infamous, and they way they're brought in is they're hanging onto the bumper of the gang cars.

The other types of specialist units I've run into are giant hulk-like guys that ride in the back of pickups and either use flamethrowers or mini-guns, and if you try to run them over with anything but a heavy geared-out trucked they will stop your car dead with a grab and everyone will fly through the windshield. (This didn't happen to me. A gang car was coming up behind him and he turned around, grabbed it, and all three passengers flew out the windshield to their deaths.)

I've done only the required missions and I'm doing all of the activities first until I'm filthy rich and have enough respect to coast on a few missions. I keep spending my money on cars and looks though. I really need to upgrade my guns. Hm.

In other news, I drive a kitted-out swat Van with every upgrade and a slick visual appearance. I ram through most vehicles and even the aforementioned big hulking assholes. Black on Black with the dark tint is over done as fuck, but I feel for a big van it works. Other cars will be better, I assure you.

...Man those graphics look like ass when standing still.
