Main Character's reaction to piloting a VTOL: "It's like a helicopter fucked a jet."

My biggest complaint about this is they really downplay the deaths of a lot of characters to the point where I have to think "Oh wait, that character died? That's right."

This has happened for every major character that has died. It's kind of annoying actually. It's not as if they hide it, it's just that these things happen during missions or at the end of cinematics in a way that may make you think "Do they live?" But no.

Couple spoilers. Not story stuff, just gameplay stuff. I I forget if this was spoiled in the trailers or not (I think it was)
-Entered a VR Realm that looks like Tron's Grid (Now with picture)
-current a 3d wire character that looks kind of like megaman
-in order to beat a firewall I have to solve a text adventure.

The qwips from the main character playing the text adventure are GOLDEN
Comp:"You see a Unicorn"
Input:>Look at Unicorn.
Comp:"It looks like a unicorn."
Character: IS THERE A LOWER DIFFICULTY!?"

Eventually the VR controller (enemy) starts to packet spam you. The game simulates rubber banding.

Then there's a top-down tank fight.

The boss fight has you fight against a two story tall demon dragon guy. Then you eventually duplicate his avatar and fight him on equal ground. The reward for winning this mission is you get the Buster Cannon and 8-bit tank in real life. As well as the ability to purchase the virtual SMG the enemies were using.
More as I progress

I keep editing this post to add more about this amazing level.

finished it. The game is going to have a really really hard time topping that.

So I am a little disappointed that more than half of the missions I have done so far have just been diversions. I am hoping that the game is done with those story missions now.

That's only the first one of each contact. After the diversion missions are complete, it moves on to the real missions.

I did like 3 diversions for every contact, so it's not just the first one for each of them.

Yeah, it is pretty excessive that I have done about 15 missions that were just diversions. Hopefully I don't meet anyone else, because that is more than a quarter of the missions in the game. And it isn't even that I had to do them, either. It's that I had to do trafficking and guardian angel twice as missions.

Oh wait, I haven't done anything for
Oleg
yet. Hopefully I don't.
Kinzee
,
Angel
and
Zimos
are the three worst offenders. They have three a piece before you start their actual missions.

Also, Smiler, since you've played in far enough to see that guy:
(HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD)
Do you know what I mean about character deaths? I didn't even realize Gat was ACTUALLY DEAD until you kill Loren and he's not in the facility waiting to be saved. What the actual fuck? He goes out like that? Heroic and all.. but no cinematic? No big moment? Really?

Same with the bridge thing. I understand I was supposed to notice the fact it was a hearse, but how about giving us some actual context they were headed towards the fucking funeral before they pop out of the water saying "Those sons of bitches interrupted our funeral!"
Oh yeah, I didn't know what the hell was going on until Mali told me what the hell was going on in the cutscene.
That whole sequence from when Loren dies to the sudden transition to recruiting the new members was very poorly done. I feel like they did a lot of flip-flopping on the story at some point.
Ultra spoiler (also speculation on my part)
I am pretty sure that Gat is going to be back in the game at some point. I mean, at some point you are supposed to be able to call zombie gang members. Even if he did die, he's gotta be somewhere later in the game.

Spoiler speculation
Zombies are canonical. If nothing else, I have a feeling you could 'cheat' to get Zombie Gat like in SR2. In the previous game if you called a voodoo number, you could then call Zombie Carlos to help you after Maero kills him. Kinzee also confirms this through some side dialogue in a mission around the power plant.
I haven't beat the game yet. I feel I'm on the final stretch of missions at least. Using Moringstar outfits with Saints colors is the best gang outfit, by the way.

Also, it took me until this game when they started making jokes about it: The main character does not have a name. Ever. He's always just "Boss" or something else.
This is entirely speculation on my part, but the fact that they are playing down their deaths is kind of a dead give away that they aren't really dead, they couldn't make it any more obvious and if you really think they're dead I don't know what to say man. Just because there's a hearse doesn't meant there's a  body there.
Not a big fan of the quicktime events though, since I'm playing with a ps2 controller and the buttons displayed are colored like a 360 obviously, Though it is nice that when you're using the mouse or keyboard it displays mouse or keyboard buttons instead. Not a big problem though, since no qucktime event has gotten me killed.
The hearse is obviously symbolic, not like they got a body. But later in the game you work with Viola who worked under Loren (SHE WAS PRESENT WHEN/WHERE GAT WAS KILLED) and she makes cracks about Gat's death. As does Matt the hacker. So the people who would have known if Gat is alive (You know, the people who killed him) even at their moments of complete submission/defeat(Matt) or comradeship(Viola) did not state anything else about Gat to the Main character or Shaundi.

If it does come up later I feel the character reactions will be amazing, still. "GAT'S ALIVE? YOU DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE WE GOT HERE?". Maybe we'll see him show up in a Stag Tank to save everyone at the last minute. Or maybe he really is just dead and they downplayed it immensely because they're dumb and we're all in denial about it.
The quicktime events are annoying, but the ones for beating people up are just obnoxious as fuck to me. I can't even land them because they seem so fast on the mouse or keyboard and I can't press them in time. I've got brain problems for PC QTEs, console ones are no problem for me.

I'm finding brutes to be the most annoying enemy. They take more bullets to bring down than any vehicle except for tanks. APCs take less shots of my super pistol to blow up. Yes, they are all headshots. It takes 1 + 1/2 clips or so.

We don't actually know who was present and how Gat died, so maybe they just don't know.

Also yeah, can't land a QTE worth a damn, but still, at least you don't die if you miss them. The worst part about the QTE with 360 buttons is that they only show up the colors, and I have no idea what those are on a 360 controller, at least when they show A, B, X, Y  it takes me like a second or two to remember they are just swapped around from the SNES layout.

Also, the game has crashed more in less time than skyrim for me, and I'm not even running it at max settings. Not a big deal though.

I've only had one hard crash in 16 hours of gameplay.

However I've encountered a strange glitch where all game mechanics freeze, but the engine keeps going. It's like my car hits an invisible wall, but I can still rotate the camera. It also doesn't allow me to use the ESC menu without serious effort - it corrects itself eventually though.

Never had a crash or gameplay problem, beat all the missions and all but 9-10% of the areas. Will probably finish today.
The game lets you play some Key Missions over again at the end and some stuff is cleared up....
but I still feel the cutscenes could have been better... a lot better.
