Deus Ex
« on: August 09, 2011, 02:14:46 PM »

I never really played DX/DX:IW a whole bunch. The most I got into each was maybe a couple hours before moving on to another game. That isn't to say that the quality was bad, but I just wasn't as hooked as I could have been.

That being said, I'm actually pretty excited for DX:HR. The combat mechanics, customization and all the entire game looks well done. The actual options to solve a situation are actually there. Not dumb shit like. "Shoot a rope" or "Shoot the guys".

I mean, there's the full retard approach:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Police station liek a boss

And some skill (The dialogue system seems pretty cool.):
Deus EX Human Revolution - Entering the police station without any fighting ( just talking )

I also can't pull my eyes off the aesthetic of it whole thing. Black and gold with clean lined/sleek technology? Fucking sold. Plus, there's this:
Deus Ex 3 Hitting On Prostitutes THE EPIC SEQUEL

My only concern is that I might be missing some references/things from the first game/IW. Anyone know how long they are to play through?

Most of the references are probably going to be from the first game, which might clock in a bit longer than IW. I am not sure how long it is exactly because the game seems pretty long to me.

Also hells yeah I preordered this game for 28 bucks. My wallet is augmented.

I gotta say, my favourite was when we spun the guy over his knee held him by his hair, and smashed his face so hard he flipped in the air.

The best part about the preview build nonsense:

People downloaded a leak. Generally when that happens the response is "Wow it's shit." I think people were actually blown away by the quality of the leak. Nearly every video I've found says "This is a good game"

A Deus EX texture pack just came out if you want to play it with that.

I was able to get through the intro and a bit of the first actual mission before I had to sleep/go to work. The biggest thing I'm happy about? DX11 and Tesselation. It runs pretty fucking smooth on my GTX470 at absolute max in every way.

DX11 and Tesselation are the things you're happiest about? I'm happiest about the Deus Ex part of the game, where it play like an actually good Deus Ex.

After Invisible War, it's not.

i like how satisfying the non-lethal weapons are to use. the non-street samurai takedowns and the PEPS and stungun in particular.

After Invisible War, it's not.

After what?

Anyways, I'd love to play this, but... I don't meet the recommended requirements. (I'm under par on video card and processor.) Is anybody else playing it at or below reccomended specs and can advise me on how well or poorly it runs?

I'm pretty consistently blown away by the game and the story/world that exists. I talk to every NPC, read every email and I'm going to do every sidequest. And I've only reached the first LIMB clinic.

I think my favorite thing so far is the constant reinforcement of my favorite playstyle. Every time I get an experience bonus just for going into a vent I get happy! And I loved the room in the first mission that just had like, 12 fucking computers to hack. I went back after I finished it and hacked them all in comfort and safety. Bonuses for good dialogue choices! I only wish there was a bit more super jump stuff

http://www.sarifindustries.com Is apparently now in control of Purity First, and on a lot of pages there's audio clips of that crazy radio show host. It's pretty interesting.

Jesus fucking christ, this game. THIS GAME. I've just come back from China after a brief detour, and THIS FUCKING GAME. Every time I think I'm prepared, I'm not, but I also don't feel like M. Night Shyamalan is peeking around the corner waiting for the tweest. Also, various PMC and other para-military groups. Stop using robots to help guard your shit. They will always mysteriously turn against you.
