Revan and HK-46 go down like bitches in the game's equivalent of Scarlet Monastery. I wish this was all a lie, but I speak the truth.

Well

LucasArts has excised canon before - that writer who had a boner for the Mandalorians eventually had her entire line dumped into the same section that the gag what-if comics are as far as Canon goes because it got that retarded.

Maybe TOR will hit the same threshold of "too stupid, even for Lucas"

See there was some writer or other who was one of the regular novel writers the book folks have in their stable. I think he also did some magazine features and game supplements blahblahblah. I think it was Abel G Pena, but don't quote me.

Anyway, he did some fanfic in his own time. The fanfic was basically him taking this damn-near-underage-or-possibly-really-underage model he was stalking online and making her Boba Fett's daughter. He even got one of the regular artists to draw pictures based on some MySpace or Facebook pictures. He was basically being as retarded about it as you can imagine, even gushing about his creation on his blog (and showing the original source page... god knows what this girl thought).

Quote from: Wookieepedia
Ailyn Vel's character was developed by Abel G. Peña, fleshed out exclusively for his article in Star Wars Insider 80 entitled The History of the Mandalorians. Ailyn was designed as the typical "gorgeous butt-kicker", based on characters such as Joan of Arc, TV's Xena the Warrior Princess, Kill Bill's Beatrix Kiddo, and the hookers of Frank Miller's Sin City.

The artwork depicting Ailyn that appeared in the article was by Joe Corroney, inspired by a photograph of model Anastasia Heonis. The photo was taken by Jason Perlman.

Well, she was born in '71 and the character didn't appear until the 2000s, so she was very much legal.

still, ew

Was it that time you entered that contest with the Neverwinter Nights module?

As long as one of the raid bosses uses Thad Libs as his opening speech.

I'm assuming you're referring to your later normal interview rather than the fake contest bullshit, in which case... wow, TOR has only one writer?

Yeahhh... So I don't think there's a way for this game to be mechanically interesting enough for me to want to pay for it now... Maybe when it goes F2P.

Not to be an ass, but seriously, nearly everything diehard Star Wars fans are complaining about in TOR sounds like WORLD OF WARCRAFT LAUNCH OR POSSIBLY WARCRAFT 3: THE NEXT GENERATION

Thrill to Bioware fans struggling with their first encounters with adaptation decay, flexible lore, inappropriately steamrolled bosses, mischaracterization, lack of attention to their favorite part of a ridiculously broad and overbuilt universe, novel writers just plain not knowing what the hell they are even talking about, and pvp balance

Maybe if WarCraft lore had been coherent or good in the first place, but KotOR/II, which this is supposed to be a sequel to mind you, is just two games, with good writing, and pretty fucking crystal clear motivations at the base of everything. I am by no means a diehard Star Wars fan. I just rankle when they can't even stick to the best shit about their own lore from two very well written games. Not even for the main characters. At least Thrall, Jaina, and Arthas are basically the same Frozen Throne into WoW.

Warcraft Lore was kind of stitched together as it went along.
Star Wars Lore, for all it's lunacy, had been firmly entrenched and enshrined before this game came about.

Well, KotOR lore anyway. Generalized Eu shit is all over the place, but that's not what TOR purported to be.

Have mentioned it a couple times.  Yeah, the contest didn't really do anything but get me an audition, which was for this job.  I didn't make the cut but got some good feedback; I tried again with another, much better mod but by then they'd already hired this guy who you all think is terrible.

I'm assuming you're referring to your later normal interview rather than the fake contest bullshit, in which case... wow, TOR has only one writer?

Well, probably not.  But I was definitely interviewing to write missions for an upcoming BioWare science fiction MMORPG.

Don't worry Thad. We'd probably think you were terrible too if you had gotten the job. We're givers that way.

As much as I love KotOR, I'm somehow still more annoyed by Awakening's B-tier writing. No, its offenses weren't as generally grievous, but just the same.
