Latest Gossip
Sunday, October 16th - Forum created, role PMs being written. Finalized, 30-player rules moved to that thread.

Saturday, October 15th - Signups open. Game commencement and signup end slated for mid-November, 2011. Items for TT deleted to 16, two items added, BrontoHouse items altered slightly for balance.

Saturday, September 17th - Some role shuffling, we're compiling a list of items, and Diz has made an update to the dev thread. Feel free to post there, too.

Friday, September 16th - Diz's order is we're currently cramming as MANY references and mechanics as we can into the game. So far we have an AH with a TT and a Bronto item every night, something called empowerment chaining, and anyone who plays on both forums knows of the Weretiger and Secret Boss roles, which are either being combined or turned into a 4th faction. When the game is so bursting with roles that it becomes impossible to play, we'll start trimming the fat and make the roles all secrety again.

Would factions be assigned randomly or based on where you actually post more?

Roles are randomly assigned by die roll. - mod.

Also for my "other" I want that one where you possess the account of a different player each day and have to impersonate them.

The Stonewall could be nightkilled; he just needed a majority to be lynched.

Seeing Oracle and Geomancer roles made me want to play a Final Fantasy Tactics themed game.

In, sure, although I absolutely hate making alternate accounts. oh wait it's going to be in an entirely different forum never mind I don't know how to read

ANYWAY: I had a couple of ideas for new Wolf Roles: The Wendigo and the Interceptor Wolf.

The Wendigo eats the corpse of the whoever gets lynched, gaining their power for one night and the proceeding day.

The Interceptor Wolf automatically kills any Vigilante or Vigilante-like character who nightkills a wolf other than himself.

What about a role that can possess a dead player's account? Zombie or something.

I just don't think it would fit as a town role. Possession may be used, and in fact I'm working on that, but it will likely be a villain role if so.

Why not?

It doesn't really sound all that fun. I mean, there's already reason enough to finish the game as quickly as possible for every player, you don't really need an arbitrary player death to hurry things along. Plus it just sort of makes lynching/night killing players too risky... for everyone.

P.S. DNi: Both of those are awesome.

Yay! I'm so happy.

Stupid item idea
Backwards reality generator

Pm activated  single use
When activated it causes the person with the fewest votes against them to be lynched instead
Ties are broken via a RNG

also why aren't the vigilante and the seer automatically on the roster? those two are, like, the most basic Innocent roles in the game.

Also also: Ninja. You can't have a werewolf game without somebody flipping out and killing someone.

Now if we combined that with this:

Coin Detumbler - Nighttime Item - Target: none - Usage: anytime - Declare: PM - Effect: Submit a list of players to the GM. Ties will be broken by selecting the player nearest to the top of the list, rather than randomly. The list may be updated as often as you like, but only during the night.

:D :D :D

also why aren't the vigilante and the seer automatically on the roster? those two are, like, the most basic Innocent roles in the game.

Also also: Ninja. You can't have a werewolf game without somebody flipping out and killing someone.

Killer - Kills one player once (unblockable even to death shields) at any time.

Rolechecker - Sees what powers a player has at night.

Protector - Prevents death on non-consecutive nights on any player.

Those went to the TalkingTimers, who are not as rich in roles as we are (though as you can see, they are richer in mechanics and items)

The answer seems obvious to me: change the Talking Time's lame killer role to more resemble the Vigilante (In other words: nightkills only), and give us the Ninja.

The 'us' you're referring to is the town. There is no division between roles. You might wind up with a TT or a Bronto role, and if you're Vig or Killer, you'll be town regardless.

You also won't even HAVE a power unless someone who is Empowered trusts you enough to Empower you, so.
