I'm positive the extra content to appear as DLC of some kind on the original platforms.

Vile circumvention of Dark Souls' intentionally mysterious multiplayer interactions.

I'll live with not repeating "no, try putting it down again" to my friend over speaker phone for half an hour.

Will wait for info on how they plan on dealing with save scumming, hacks and such.

Well, when you consider that the 360 version has had a working HAVE ANYTHING YOU WANT EVER save editor since about a month after release and NOTHING has been done about it yet, I don't think they can really do much.

I'd be more concerned about the max stats hacking that lets them stay at SL 1.

Anyway, cool beans for anyone who wasn't able to play it before.

How do you get a save file from a 360 to a pc?  I'd never heard of that before.

Probably a USB stick or a network connection. The 360 is pretty much like a regular computer so I imagine it's a very simple process.

I thought you could only use the proprietary hard drive and memory units with the thing.

Nope. I would run avis I downloaded off the internet on my 360 all the time with just a standard 8gb usb stick, plugged right in the front of it.

Hard drive, yes, I mean you can make a laptop hard disk into a 360 hard disk if you know what you're doing but memory sticks can be whatever no messing around.

All that new content better be DLC for the console versions. new areas, and new bosses including Artorias himself and that chimera in the trailers. There's also a few new areas including the Tomb of Oolacile, that crazy dead civilization that used light magic. Fffffffuck I need it.

Also, Cursed Sword confirmed for canon "Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition will include an untold chapter in the world of Lordran where the player must stop the spread of darkness at all costs by facing and defeating the Dark Knight Artorias of the abyss. Available world-wide August 24th, 2012 for your PC." Turns out the Abysswalker took a longer walk than we thought.

Quote
Greatsword of Artorias (Cursed):
"Sword born from the soul of the great grey
wolf Sif, guardian of the grave of the
Abysswalker Knight Artorias.
The sword can damage ghosts, as it was
cursed when Artorias joined a covenant
with the creatures of the Abyss."
Quote
This ring symbolizes Knight Artorias's
covenant with the beasts of the Abyss.

It's wearer, like Artorias himself, can
traverse the Abyss.

I imagine Artorias will be friendly if you're a Dark Wraith, then? Or maybe just so far gone as to kill everyone.

Hard to say.  Kaathe isn't terribly fond of the darkwraiths you fight in New Londo, so it's likely that Artorias will be set against you regardless.  mite b cool if they did something like that, though.

Commonality of purpose doesn't mean dick in Dark Souls. There can only be one Lord in the end. Maybe Artorias is an earlier attempt by Kaathe to create the Dark Lord, but he failed. Now he's just a powerful agent of the Abyss. I imagine he'll be like fighting a suped up dark wraith.

Oh, man, that'd be good:

Mechanically: Make him False King Allant. Complete with soul/humanity drain.
