The multiplayer system has been really pissing me off lately, a friend bought the game, because I told him it wouldn't be as hard as he expected because I could play with him, We've probably spent about 4 hours over the last few days trying to connect to eachother without any success, we're both close levels, we're both way of white, we live near eachother, and i'm putting the sign down in out of the way places, but it never shows up for him. It worked twice yesterday, but since then, it hasn't worked at all.

I take it all back, Turns out when we had fought the boss earlier, we had actually defeated it, even though my friend died at the same time, That's why the sign wasn't showing up, he's new to the game, so it's sort of understandable. And I figured since he died before the boss, it wasn't counted as dead.

Yeah, nah.  It's pretty forgiving with double KOs.  It pretty much always gives yo ucredit for the kill if they are simultaneous.  I've only lost out when the boss/other player dies a bit after I did, and it depends on how soon after.

On PC (also xbox I hear) If you have any phantoms in your world or are in another world you get the options to invite someone or join a session from the Live menu. I'm not sure exactly how effective it actually is but can't hurt if the opportunity arises.

Worry about that when Dark Souls 7 comes out. Hopefully there can be more polishing on things and bosses who can't be parried to death.

I really get sick of that complaint every time I hear it.

There were two bosses in the game that could be parried, Gwyn and Artorias.

There were two bosses in the game that were once great and fearsome warriors who in some way succumb and lose their strength trying to hold back darkness before you fight them. Gwyn and Artorias.

Shut up it was a plot point.
