Too on-a-phone to link it right now, but it looks like protestors have taken over a BoA in San Fran.  As in, actually taken it over.  The employees have cleared out and security guards are pretty much standing by because there ain't shit they can do about it.

The moderate side of me says OSF is kind of crossing the line into being dicks, but the resigned part just says "Well that's what happens when you declare war on a movement."

Karl Rove has every right to get up on stage and speak his lies.  How dare those dirty hippies try to inject truth in to what is a conservative echo chamber!

That's not an accurate headline. If you actually read the quote, it's a RETIRED NYC Supreme court justice, which has far less sway and meaning all things considered. Yeah, I'm sure they've kept their connections up over the years but they have no direct power like an active supreme court justice would have.

Let me put it this way: in the hierarchy of how nervous a job description should make you if it's in the witness box testifying against you, where does "Retired Supreme Court Judge" fall?

Under any currently elected official, celebrity, or other big name. But above the rabble and above ex-cops. Right on the outskirts of that if you will.

I feel like I should make this chart. "Patriotic to You-done-fucked-up; A who's who of ass whoopings". At the bottom of the scale you would have drum circle hippies, and at the top you would have the President of the United States.

In actual response: I'm sure the police officer who did it will be reprimanded and dealt with, but the protest-wide implications or possible policy changing for NYC protest dealings are slim to none. If he had hit an active SCJ? Then we'd see some real fireworks.

EDIT: Responding to Thad.

Probably just under "person wearing a bright green hat telling you in bold letters how shitfucked you will be if you push her against a fucking wall".

NYPD will probably just argue that that guy was specifically a huge idiot, and they'll have a valid point.

Under any [...] celebrity

Well, if it's trial by jury, anyway.

In actual response: I'm sure the police officer who did it will be reprimanded and dealt with, but the protest-wide implications or possible policy changing for NYC protest dealings are slim to none. If he had hit an active SCJ? Then we'd see some real fireworks.

Well, sure.  But what's next?  It seems like they're just getting more brazen.

It's not like she was incognito.  She was wearing a fluorescent green hat that said "National Lawyers Guild Legal Observer".  And pointed to it.  And said she was a legal observer.

So I'm sure there's a good explanation for why that cop just opened up spraying that line of students... but...

Yeah, those officers are probably thankful they didn't have the zombie legion eat them.

Yeah, given the weekend's news about Egyptian protesters being beaten by military police in riot gear, this is going to be an interesting week for cognitive dissonance.
