Vivi transfers Rudiger to a shoulder, where he just flops, and runs her opposite hand through her hair. "A MASTER WIZARD like myself is always attracting the attention of the other world."

Vivi blinks. "... What, in a stream? Then it'd be wet. And I'd be cold."

Vivi stares at Gus, completely baffled. "I wouldn't be wearing my coat, stupid."

"Well, a few minutes in a creek with a lump of soap wouldn't go amiss, but I meant that this" Gus Prestidigitates another grass stain out of the back "was the first spell I learned when I was about your age, as an apprentice."

Francisca nods. "Well, I guess we need to figure out where he gets this power from, and try stop him from using it."

"I bet it's got somethin' to do with the tower here," Briar speculates. "He might've found something here already that just whet his appetite for more... or he could just be 'specially favoured by Vaur'cha for takin' over the tribe..."

Briar snarls in frustration, grimacing and holding her head. "I come all this way to learn about me and all I got is more questions!"

Francisca stands up and gives Briar a pat on the back. "Don't worry, we'll solve all the mysteries, we just need to work them out one at a time."

"We're off to a good start, I think, We already have one potential ally in the village", She says, gesturing towards the shaman. "I can think of a few others we can get on our side, too."

Vivi glares at Gus harder, sort of like a puppy growling to let you know how intimidating it really is. "Yeah, well... it's a dumb spell."

A terrible retort, but it'll have to do as she shifts her weight and rolls back and forth on the balls of her feet anxiously, trying to put a cap on her growing fury.

Gus notices but isn't exactly intimidated by the "mighty wizard". "Hold your arms out and let me take a couple measurements, I can adjust the fit so it doesn't hang off you like it did."

Vivi complies, but when Gus moves to adjust the fit she snaps her head around for the final glare. "I'm on to you, Slave Bro."

Sinisterly(?), Rudiger rubs against Gus's shin and meows.

Gus tightens a few stitches. "You caught me, and uncovered my devious plot to make your clothes less filthy and ill-fitting. I hope you'll someday forgive me." He returns the coat: clean, reinforced in the most-worn places, and custom-fit for Vivi. A job well done, overall.

Francisca paces a little, deep in thought, getting her notebook out, she reads a few pages, and then jots down some more stuff, she looks up, tapping her finger on the page as she thinks. "Well.. it's not the worst plan you've ever had.." She mutters to herself, Turning to the shaman, she asks, "What are orc weddings like?"

Vivi tries on the new coat, beaming for a few moments... then looks at Gus with horror as he admits to the plot. "I knew it! Raggamoffyn!" She points at him accusingly!

"It was irony, girl, and I don't mean my words were sort of like iron. Now if I were a Ragamoffyn, wouldn't you be in my thrall now? You're already wearing my boots and coat."

Gus pauses, waiting to see whether Vivi strips off the coat, leaving her vulnerable to Redcaps, or leaves it on, leaving her vulnerable to her accused.

"I am a craftsman, and by that I mean a plain ol' regular human man who likes for things to be clean and well-maintained." He indicates his own meticulously clean and, until the nasty business on horseback earlier, well-pressed clothes that seem a bit atypical of the mismatched castoffs generally employed by the Ragamoffyn.

"Orc weddings are like anything else. We eat and fight a lot. Too tiring for someone of my age."

The shaman yawns, waddles off and climbs into into a bedroll in the corner.

"Well, choose your own path."

Francisca turns around to leave with the others. "I've got a plan, it might sound crazy, but hear me out."

She touches briar's arm. "You need to reclaim what's yours, and get revenge for your brothers and sisters. So that means taking your rightful place as leader of this clan." She walks ahead and turns around, facing the others. "To do that, we're going to need allies. Now, Kazrac wants to try win my heart, and you know men, they can be pretty driven when they put their mind to this kind of thing." She turns around, pacing. "So what I tell him is that to truly impress me, He needs to help you, the rightful leader of the tribe through blood, defeat kalor and take control of the clan. It would be helpful to you to have a powerful and respected warrior and his followers be close allies, too."

She shrugs. "I'm just working with what we've got, to me, it sounds like the best way to take down kalor and gain the respect of the people at the same time."

"Thanks, old one," Briar says reverently to the shaman.

"I like your idea, Franny," she nods after they leave the tent. "But we can't be dumb about this. Give 'em pieces of the story, not the whole thing. We'll let the others in on the plan and maybe we'll have a shot at pulling it off. They might have some ideas of their own, too."

She leads them back through the settlement to the tent where they left the others. Briar looks around at the orcs with new eyes, wondering how they'd accept her, if at all.

Francisca nods. "I can understand that, you're an outsider, a lot of people wouldn't be happy about the idea of you taking charge, even if it is your right."

She smiles, "We've just gotta find a way to make them see how good you are."

An orc in clean leather armour with a rusty iron shoulder plate and a horned helmet stands outside the tent. He carries a steel mace in one hand and a gnarled wooden staff in the other. His necklace and belt are adorned with tiny skulls.

"You shouldn't have come here, outsiders," he growls. The tip of his staff ignites with flame. Behind you, heavy footsteps approach of an ogre wielding a massive hammer, accompanied by three more armed orcs.

The ogre and his henchmen are slow to react, and you all get the initiative.
