Taking Pitamaha's go for him to save time. He attacks with Iron Fist, but misses, and shifts away to avoid the fire aura. He marks the fire swarm with Battlemind's Demand.

Opponents' turn.

The ogre turns around and slams Ampersand.

Ampersand takes 12 damage.
Ampersand is dying.

The fire swarm shifts around and flanks Pitamaha, stabbing suddenly like a cobra. It hits!

Pitamaha takes a reduced 9 fire damage.
Pitamaha is bloodied.

The orc slashes at Pitamaha and hits!

Pitamaha takes a reduced 3 damage.

The other orc slashes at Gus, but misses.

Kazrac's tent is now completely aflame, and the fire has spread to adjacent huts. The kobold yelps, still inside.

Gus draws his dagger, well-maintained and razor-sharp, and slashes an opening into the canvas tent beside him. He ducks through (provoking if necessary), keeping his head down in the smoky tent, and moves over to the kobold. "Let's see that chain, boy, hold it up so I can get a good shot." Gus waves a finger and fires a magic missile, hoping to create a weakest link.

That's as much damage as Gus can do here. The 4e PHB doesn't appear to have rules for attacking objects, so what this actually accomplishes is up to JD.

Ampersand stands back up and brushes dirt off his coat, spitting some blood to the side before turning to nod to Franny. "Thank you" he half mumbles while clearing his throat, reaching down to grasp his blade again. As the ogre glances towards the helpfully distracting yell from Briar Ampersand's feet start to push at the dust under them, his other hand wrapping around the hilt just before he leaps towards the snarling beast and swinging a long arc, driving the side of his blade against, and very shortly after in to, the thing's eye.

Pfft, Gus has it. Vivi scampers to the South and pretends to dive as she dramatically akimbo Eldritch Blasts Orc Warrior B. Sweet and Sour scented beams scorch the fool's chest, rocketing out of both of her finger-gun hand poses. Vivi lands in an awkward kneel and rises, throwing a handful of sugar over her shoulder into the Fire Swarm, Cursing it. Poompf.

Pitamaha shuffles over to the  uses Iron Fist augment 1 on the fire spirit. He gains fire resistance 9 until the end of his next turn. The attack is a hit for 11, or a reduced 1 damage. Then he shifts to the indicated space, hoping to lure it away from the tents.

The orc turns around to find who blasted him, but can't see Vivi anywhere. He charges Briar instead, but misses.

The fire swarm follows Pitamaha. It spins around and stabs him in the side.

Pitamaha takes a reduced 5 fire damage.

The kobold runs out of the tent and flees as fast as his legs will carry him.

Party's turn. Only Orc B and the fire swarm remain.

Pitamaha ran up to the orc and gave him an Iron Fist (augment 1) (1d20+10 = 18, just barely a hit, for 10 damage, and he gains fire resist 9 again). "We must needs extinguish it, else the whole camp will burn down!" he cried. Extinguishing fire with a sword, even a magic sword, was a bit beyond him, however, and the psychic energy that was protecting him from its flames would soon be drained.

Ampersand: You find six full waterskins in a tent.

A waterskin, vial of water or other liquid (holy water, potions) can be thrown and deals 1d6 damage to the swarm. A larger container like a barrel or cauldron deals 2d6 but requires you to be adjacent, unless you're sufficiently muscular to throw a barrel full of water.
