Ampersand sheaths his sword and holsters the crossbow back to his belt before grabbing the largest area of cloth he can (floor covering, blanket, side of tent) and loading them in, tying the end off like a bindle and wielding it in both hands before running back towards the fray.

(should I set him on the map for next round, or do I have to use that turn's action to get back on the map?)

It'll take you a move to get back within line of sight of the swarm. Since you're currently out of sight, however, you can Stealth, and your modifier automatically beats its passive Perception unless it actively takes a minor action to look for you.

Francisca, weary and frustrated at all of her attempts to attack failing, moves over behind vivi and points over at the orc, "Hey, sorry about this, but i'm sort of only attacking a useless minion like you because I can't seem to do a thing against the fire guy."

Enraged, the orc runs towards her, running into the side of the fire swarm.

Vivi whips around the corner of the house and pretends to be drawing back a bolt along her forearm. "I win." And she aims her arm like a mighty cannon, discharging another Eldritch Blast upon the Orc!

Quote

It can't deal less than 5 damage, so Vivi does indeed win as it KOs the Orc, discharging the odor of fresh bacon violently on impact with his chest! Vivi celebrates by teleporting three squares and then scampering away from that nasty looking fire swarm.

The eldritch bolt tears the orc's head from his shoulders. The fire swarm lashes out at Pitamaha, but misses.

Briar wipes her forehead with the back of her hand. "Ancestors, give me strength." She dashes past Pitamaha and swings her axe at the fire-thing, hoping its magic have enough bite to injure the elemental.

It may yet, but Briar's arm is heavy and her body sore. She takes a step back to avoid the creature's sweltering heat.

Francisca skips backwards a few steps, reaching a hand out towards the fire swarm. "I Don't know if you can understand me or not, but it looks like things are over for you!" It doesn't seem to affect the swarm much, but it draws its attention, causing it to fly towards her.

Ampersand comes back on the scene right after Francisca calls the swarm's attention away. Water dripping through the bottom of the sack, he considered trying to toss some at the fire, but the old man was in the way, and on a shot he didn't... well have much of a shot on.

He'd never tried to frustrate living flame before, but figured he might as well try.

"Hey fire! Your mother was a water!"

Bluff to create a distraction is opposed by Insight. (For convenience, assume a creature's Insight is the same as its Perception unless stated otherwise.) It lets you attempt a Stealth to hide "until the end of the current turn" (doesn't say whose turn. The enemy's turn, presumably, or else it's not much use.).

(Pitamaha's ability to safely be near this guy is depleted, and all of his other powers are built around the idea of having himself and others be directly adjacent. He can barely hurt it, and he is himself rather hurt, though not alarmingly so. Even so, with just one enemy left it seems wasteful to burn one of his Daily healing abilities. He'll disengage and do this instead:)

Pitamaha rushed to Ampersand's side and steadied him. "Thou must show greater fortitude, my friend," he said, "for they are assessing our strength and will be ill impressed if thou succumbest to so meager a wound as this!" (Move to the specified location, then administer First Aid, with a DC10 Heal check: 1d20+11 = 25, an overwhelming success. Ampersand may use his Second Wind immediately without taking an action, though he will not gain any defense bonuses for doing so.)

It has begun to rain. The fire swarm darts around as if looking for an escape.

Amid the chaos of battle, a band of screaming orcs rushes in at the wounded fire swarm. Two shirtless orcs blast cones of ice from outstretched hands. The fire swarm strikes out and badly burns one orc, but amid the combined assault of yourselves and the orcs, the swarm is quickly snuffed out.

The orc band's leader is familiar: it's Kazrac, the warlord. He walks over to the dead fire shaman, cleaves the skull in two with his axe, then spits on the body.

"Ignore my tent," he says as orcs waddle in with barrels of water and start to put out fires. "Kazrac moves into the chieftain's house this evening."

Kazrac approaches you.

"The shaman you have slain was the son of Kalor, the chieftain. Many orcs believed him immortal. His fire spirit raises him from the dead each time he is killed, like the phoenix of old legend. But nobody has ever defeated both him and the fire spirit."

"The fire shaman's home and possessions are now yours to do with as you see fit." He points to a large two-storey house built of white marble cut from one of the fallen towers.

The rainfall stops as suddenly as it began. People drag away orc bodies, and a small brown dog sniffs at the fire shaman's corpse. Kazrac's men crowd around and look tense.

"Kalor will want revenge for his son, once he returns from the dungeons beneath the white tower. Every orc now must decide whether to take Kalor's side, or yours."

He places a hand on each of your shoulders in turn.

"My men and I are a hundred strong. If you are brave enough to take on the chieftain, you have my support."
