"Because," the voice booms, "The Shadow will reward me for freeing him, and all who join me shall be as gods in the new world we shall create in our own image."

*rolls*

The Shadow is the deity of secrets. The Pantheon says that he is chained away at the end of time, and freeing him will bring about the end of Rynwold. His worshippers are a hidden cult who work in secret to free him. Sigilus the chain devil was a follower of the Shadow.

Francisca looks up at the crystal. "So you really expect a god of secrets to reward you for freeing him? What possible reason does he have to give you any power? It's in his best interests to make sure you're destroyed along with this world, why would he want a potential rival? He knows how ambitious you are!"

Ampersand scoffs at the exchange.

"Ambitious indeed. All this work and time so you can be the most powerful rock in a destroyed world."

He also checks to see if there's anything interesting or that stands out among the possessions on Kalor before he was promoted to rockhood.

He had a skull-tipped staff and some kind of amulet, but both were crushed. He also has some scrolls in the pocket of his robe which quite likely survived the impact.

(If you're gonna go into the rock, go step on the trigger plate. What we've heard from a totally reliable source is that triggering the squishing means the previous soul is kicked out of the Godhammer, while sitting on a throne means you aggregate with the one in there already. At the very least we know it doesn't kill you in the strictest sense.)

Gus moves to the point indicated and PIKA CHUUUUUUs Modrons 5, 7, and 8. The Thunder Wave vaporizes the two closest to him, but apparently a burst of flying modron parts is enough to buffer drone #5 from damage.

"Hey Kalor, I'm just wonderin'... uh, any particular reason you had to wait for us to show up before you turned yerself into a rock? Because it seems to me you'da been fine smashin' yer drones yerself, and bein' able to go 'Mwa ha ha, just as I planned!' to us don't seem worth the trouble. What's the deal?"

"To be honest, I had expected to use the chair instead. Being crushed by a fifteen foot cube of amethyst is rather painful. Before you rudely interrupted me, I was having a very nice chat with the cube's former resident, a rather ancient being who was looking forward to joining my new pantheon of gods. But his soul has moved on now."

Ampersand, Francisca and Pitamaha still to take their turns.

Ampersand shrugs.

"Okay whatever. I guess we just punch and stab things like usual."

Casually stepping around the throne he takes a few seconds to look for some kind of weak spot on the tridrone. Not finding anything definite he just goes for whatever seems to be glowing the most.

Whatever the part is cracks as if it were made of glass (which maybe it was, he doesn't know how robots work) and it seems like something under the surface may have broken.

(17 damage + 7 sneak attack damage = 24. The 7 damage ticks every round until save end.)

[Well, I rolled a 1, so I imagine I don't see any]

Francisca decides to blast the big crystal with a bunch of curse words, seeing if it has any effect on it.

Your words echo through the large chamber, but have no noticeable effect on the crystal apparatus.

Pitamaha, Kazrac and Cogs still to go.

Kazrac charges the Platinum Tridrone and and delivers a perfect vertical chop.

Kazrac deals 18 damage.

Only Pitamaha left to go before the modrons march. We'll skip your turn if you don't take it!

(Also, minor reminder: Tridrones can't be flanked.)
