Francisca shakes her head. "You couldn't have known, none of us did, at least we know for sure that the forest was linked to the monster. let's head back to town, we can get some information from people in town, i'm sure."

Ampersand continues to be in the same inn Vivi just was without noticing him, with all the answers to their questions.

Francisca looks over at briar and smiles, "Honestly, I don't have any solid plans. But one thing about small towns is that it's easier to find the people who know what's going on, someone will know something, either i'll sweet-talk the information out of them, or offer a reward, but we're gonna get to the bottom of this.", She flips through her notes a little, looking up again. "I just hope i haven't made a mistake and backed us into a corner we can't get out of.."

Oh, I knew I was forgetting something.

I was at 27/33 HP from the last fight and unless I assume leveling up puts me at 38/38, I blow a Healing Surge to be at 38/38 anyway!

Everyone is back together, then, with the possible exception of  Pitamaha if he's still banging on the door of the church.

[Anyone healing after or during a short rest gets my charisma bonus to their healing, +5]

Francisca stands with the rest of the group, "Hey again, friends, It seems like any possible leads out at the burial mound have dried up, Anything look good on your side of things?"

It's evening now of day 1. The trial begins on the morning of day 4. You haven't slept since you arrived at the town two days ago.

"C'mon, let's get a room," Briar jerks her thumb at the inn. "Maybe we can get a bath while we're at it."

"To go without rest when necessary is a skill of value," said Pitamaha, "but to go without rest when unnecessary is folly. Let us secure lodging without delay. For myself, having much to think on, I am desirous of solitude. Now, how many rooms...?" (I'm buying.)

Ampersand pushes through the group and up to the bar. Slapping his hands down on the counter he calls out, "hero's suite, keeper!" Then leans in closer with a quieter voice "that's the one with the most hookers and booze, in case you've never had heroes here before."

The night passes uneventfully and you awaken well-rested. It's now morning of the second day.

Briar finds Vivi. "Hey kid, did you say that the man we chopped up on the altar was a wizard or somethin', with scrolls and stuff? What if he brought the monster here, somehow, but didn't mean it? You're all kinds of magic, so let's get those scrolls of his." (Briar will go seek out Bron, hopefully with someone more personable than her)

Ampersand wakes up late enough that a least a few others from the group would still be gathered in the Inn. After placing the head down on the table one hand would motion to the keeper for food, as the other sprawled out the scroll and other papers and notes. "So how was everyone's night?"

Bron is in the tavern this morning as well. "Briar, isn't it? I'll tell you whatever I can remember."

Vivi follows Briar on the assumption that tavern = breakfast.

"Okay, Bron," Briar says, sitting down across from him (presumably Vivi is next to her, eating a big bowl of porridge and honey or whatever). "So you told my friend about what happened, but what was on the scrolls your boy was reading? And where can we find 'em?"

Francisca stretches and looks at ampersand, having slept in late too. "My night was gr.. What are those, Can I read them?" Noticing the pile of documents.
