(If it's Lottel I wouldn't count on it. I guess I can slide that to a generic Streetwise asking about travel to the south.)

[If some of the players don't want to play anymore, we could maybe get some new players in?]

Francisca meets back up with vivi, not having any luck finding ampersand, and suggests that they search together.

Vivi: On the road to the south is a village named Dramsburg, a tiny farming community of little importance. You speak to a human cleric of Rothdar, a free-spirited fair-haired man in his twenties, who mentions that he was surprised not to see Bron and Letham, two friends from that village who normally meet him at the harvest festival. He describes them as follows:

Bron is a muscular, brown-haired hunter. The cleric describes him as exceptionally brave and skillful, and friendly to those he meets.

Letham is Bron's friend, a thin, fair-haired man in his late teens who dabbles in magic. He talks obsessively about ancient texts and forgotten lore. Bron treats Letham like a brother.

I guess I will tell Franny about these people and this village.

After the initial campaign Ampersand had followed up on the text and location referred to in it. The idea of discovering a completely forgotten holy relic or text and the fortune and fame it would bring would keep him comfortable for a long time. Not accustomed to forgotten caves and ruins, however, he quickly gave up the notion of unlocking any secrets on his own.

Before seeking out an adventuring party Ampersand started looking for any known information of the area. (20 + 9 = 29)

Briar will accompany Ampersand, assuming he has no objection. It never hurts to have someone who knows how to loom.

Francisca raises an eyebrow, looking down at Vivi, "A missing persons case? Sure, i'm always up for helping out in these kinds of things."

Ampersand: The village of Dramsburg to the south is of little importance and receives very few visitors. A few merchant caravans deliver crops from there to the market in this city.

An wandering elven monk describes how the land around Dramsburg was once more fertile than it is now, many decades ago. He blames the clerics of Catharsus for their lack of respect for nature.

There's a small shrine in the city called Furlacfall which claims to be the true site of the ancient monument. It's a one-storey building in a disused corner of the temple district. There are some bare pedestals that, you learn from the elven monk, once housed small statues until they were sold off.

Other than that, there's nothing of interest in the shrine. Going by the text, the true location of the ancient site is near Dramsburg.

(me? Anyone? I'm still not sure exactly what's happening and if Briar has been with me this whole time or what's going on but okay)

The day after arriving to Dramsburg, Ampersand put out word that anyone in the town looking for work should contact him regarding an archaeological expedition just outside of town starting up over the next few days. Heading out as near the location as he can figure Ampersand tries to get as good a reading of it as he can from a safe distance before sending in the bodies to clear out the traps he has always assumed all forgotten ruins to be abundant with.

[I think a refresher of the current state of the party would be helpful.]

Recap:

You're all currently in the city of Great Renvale, presumably in an inn. We might assume for convenience that you're staying together in the same inn or nearby, so you're all aware of the news that each other hears. This includes:

1. Francisca has translated a document leading to an unexplored ancient site approximately forty miles south of the city of Great Renvale, where you are now. According to history, ancient sites are dangerous but contain valuable artifacts.

2. Vivi has heard that two men have disappeared from Dramsburg, a small village about forty miles south of Great Fenvale, quite near the ancient site.

3. Ampersand discovered a shrine in the city named Furlacfall, but there's nothing special there.

The day after arriving to Dramsburg

You must gather your party before venturing forth.

[Yeah, dramsburg sounds good, we can help missing people, and loot tombs, which is always a good time.]

"Well, there wasn't anything in the Furlacfall shrine, so that was a dead end..." Briar says as they compare notes. "Yeah, Dramsburg sounds good. Think spendin' all that time in the church where we met has been rubbin' off on me. Gimme five minutes to get my things together and we can go."

Ampersand is down for more adventure, but if you guys aren't ready to move at foot speed, someone better throw in for a carriage or we're waiting for a caravan with need for protection.
