The cold night passes at a glacial pace. Your veins turn icy at every noise. A chill runs up your spine at every shadow. The darkness freezes your very soul.

Frost Walrus.

However, the night was not so cool for some. Bennings is found incinerated, one less Thing to deal with.

However, Garry is also found burned alive. It seems he was one of the Dynamite carriers.

It is now day 2.

10 players are chillin' out max and relaxin' all cool.

MacReady
Dr. Blair
Childs
Nauls
Palmer
Dr. Copper
Norris
Clark
Fuchs
Windows

2 players got scared and whistled for a cab.

Bennings - Thing
Garry - Dynamite

Childs has the wire today.

It takes 6 votes to test.

48 hour time limit starts now. You have one hammertime you can use per game to extend the day by 24 hours. Any actions not taken before the time limit is up are lost.

REMINDER: YOU CANNOT THROW DYNAMITE IF YOU HAVE 2 OR MORE VOTES ON YOU.

REMINDER: IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR A FLAME THROWER TO BE USED BY A THING. AN ASSIMILATED FLAME THROWER LOSES HIS POWER. ALL FLAME UNIT KILLS DURING THE NIGHT ARE GUIDED BY INNOCENTS.

All votes reset. Please remember to update the poll when you vote or change your vote.

NEW RULE BONUS SUPER TIME: I have decided to let dead Things continue to play in a limited fashion by allowing them to continue to take part in internal Thing discussion. Bennings will continue (if he so wishes) to advise his ... friends. He is obviously no longer allowed to post or vote.

This rule does not apply to dead innocents.

Ok, Day 2 start!

Oh, since someone asked me a while back how the wire works:

The extra test is just randomly assigned between all living players at the start of the day, with the exception that a player who has already had the test cannot get it again unless all other living players have also had it.

Childs, hurry up and test yourself so I can take my vote off of you.

I'm more concerned about Windows's quietness. Fuchs has at least said something relevant to the game already.

20% chance to hit a thing, if my estimations are correct. And if we don't stop it here the world is 100% screwed.

Now, if you gentlemen excuse me I have a helicopter to destroy.

In the mean time? I'd like to see Childs test himself. Again, we can test tomorrow if he's acting suspicious. I want to test MacReady with our daily test. He hammered the vote in on Bennings, and I wonder if the Things would have converted him after that.

Why would they choose to convert me over Norris, who got the ball rolling on Bennings in the first place?

Childs was tested as human yesterday.  If we re-test people constantly, then we're losing out on time we could be using to test everybody once first.  If Childs is STILL human, are we going to test him again tomorrow?  And the day after that, until everyone is a Thing EXCEPT for Childs?

I'm not saying we never test him again, but we know for sure he WASN'T a Thing yesterday, which means that someone else definitely WAS.

Not only do I not understand Blair's logic, but I also don't know how a man of his age, in his condition, could possibly survive this harsh climate without having some kind of otherworldly constitution

Testing MacReady is as logical as my random toss. There really isn't much to go on right now besides random guessing and Childs being schrodenger's Thing right now. We've narrowed their population down to 2-3 (guessing one was turned last night, and we may have started with two or three things in our midst).

But you know what, Blair's suggestion to test Childs again tonight seems like a waste. Thing or not, we can pick him off at a later time. We need to find the others who are or are not Things.

Testing people who have already been tested isn't a bad idea, but we can't get into the habit of doing one thing or the other in a predictable way, or we let the Things set the game's pace.  We have to watch people and touch them and feel their gooey insides.

I'm really just not as up on all of this as the rest of you is why I'm quiet. Honestly I have no idea what to say, and "oh god oh god we're gonna die" isn't very helpful.

Though I guess it looks like we have a chance now.

Asking us to retest Childs while prodding me isn't very endearing though. Why don't you test yourself first, Blair?

I'm fine. I'm normal. I was just throwing my theory out there because we have nothing else to go on. I'm willing to even change my vote to at this point to anyone else if you'd like.
