On the topic of his early death not leaving room for proper justice: you think so? Because the way I see it, living longer could have put some distance between the allegations against him and his career, thus enabling people to view him as they liked to imagine him instead of the grim reality of what he probably was. You know, like THAT GUY.
This rolling death on the heels of his fall from grace is as black a stain as you can put on someone's legacy. If he had gone to jail, lost everything, etc., and died that way, then people would be inclined to feel sorry for him. But as it is, justice had the final word and didn't let him prepare a response, and that's how he will be in death: not as a legendary coach, but a sad example of a man who undid years of good work due to gross impropriety.
That's why I'm not so keen on judging him in death. The Divine has clearly already done as much of that as necessary.
