it's 'cause of the reaction it generates: peoplez usually think their graphic card is broken.

How to Fix Skyrim Video Glitch with ATI Drivers

Plus, that solution is of my own invention. Others seem a bit more complicated.

If people that have issues with ATI cards in Bethesda games think it's because of their graphics card, they have worse problems going on.

Pssh, even from that shitty pic I can tell that's Mjolnir, not an axe.

What I'm saying is, just another n'wah scrapping up sympathy for a fakey-fake god.

Man, Steam is making it easier than ever to get back into an Elder Scrolls game now that re installing and getting any mod you want are both one button press worth of work.

That said, if anyone else has gone back to this, of the (literally) hundreds of mods I added since last playing, the two that stand out the most as worth having are More Travelers and Live Another Life For any play throughs where you don't care a lick about the story.

Hightlights so far include spawning from "left for dead" and almost immediately being attacked by the scavenger going through the battle sight I awoke in, and deciding not to free a Talos Worshiper because of past experiences with ass handings. Only to start to leave and hear a volley of arrows taking out two of the three guards, followed by a rush of six to eight Stormcloaks obliterating the last.

Was Knights of the Nine $20 when it first came out? Because I've read that the two are comparable in the amount of content you get.

I'm pretty sure Horse Armor was $20 when it came out.

Seriously though Shivering Isles was a freak accident in way of worth while elder scrolls expansions.

Knights of the Nine was either 10 or 20 when it came out.

Horse armor was five bucks.

So according to UESP any child whose parents die during the game will wind up at Honorhall Orphanage, and can now be adopted. Bethesda has now made a game where you can murder a child's parents and force them to live with you and the lizard man you gay married.

Edit: Oh man this is the best DLC.

Quote
I keep asking my steward to buy me a horse and he keeps pocketing the money and not doing it. My wife has been having a problem for weeks now where she constantly walks backwards and thus can't even keep up when I bring her along places. Everyone in my house keeps telling my dog he is stupid (even though they wanted him). My daughters will practice their dagger in the basement but if rats show up they run away. They also refuse to wear clothes no matter what new dresses I give them. I got tired of my daughter's fox hanging around heavy-breathing all the time so I killed it when no one was looking, but somehow my daughters knew and spent days telling me they hated me and never wanted to talk to me again. Only to finally approach me and whine for an allowance and some dolls.

Time to build a new house!

Also, my bard no longer takes out his flute to play it, so he crosses his arms and stares me down while tootling a merry tune from his butt.

So I watched my friend play the beta for The Elder Scrolls Online. It looks like an Elder Scrolls game, but the things that make Elder Scrolls games what they are and not single-player MMOs have been removed in favor of MMO conventions. While pretty much every character you can interact with has voice acting, they must have used some sort of voice-generation algorithm that usually sounds okay if you hear one voice in a vacuum, but when you listen to five or six merchants in rapid succession becomes hilariously bad.

So they achieved the voice equivalent of Elder Scrolls character models?

I gave my beta to my buddy. He said it's like Skyrim without the story.
He then went on to say the quests were fun but lacked the immersion of the non-mmos.

Fun? No story obligations? I can do other things while playing?

I'm sold.

SkyUI to be able to use your mouse.
One of the skill/combat rebalacing mods; I prefer ACE.
A Quality World Map

I like tossing Immersive Weapons and Armors and the Audio Overhaul in, but Vanilla Skyrim is in a much, much better starting spot than Oblivion.

All the sexy mods.

Then when she gives you a look you give her the "What? It was like that when I loaded it!" response.
