So I was listening to some Eagles of Death metal this afternoon and I remembered the first time I'd ever heard of that band. It was in this trailer for a "movie" that I'm pretty sure was never made (sad face). This actually predated YouTube, I think, so I was happy to see it up!
Swarm and Destroy Movie I actually really like "bad High School movies" so long as they meet three criteria:
1 - It's funny. The movie is hilarious - intentionally or otherwise. I mean, you're not going to get King Lear here.
2 - It has energy. The movie has decent pacing (they don't spend like ten minutes staring at a wall or committing other crimes against film editing) and the actors get into their roles, even if they are terrible high-school kids who can't act after all.
3 - It has guts. "We do all our own stunts!" or similar stuff. Even if the stunts are crappy and tame, it's a hell of a lot more impressive when dumb kids with no training or safety nets do it. Or else they get really creative and try crazy effects things they can't afford on a twenty-dollars-at-WalMart budget.
If it does those three things - or even just tries! It can often be worth a few watches.
