Uh, guys.

I think I just got the best gift anybody in the universe will ever have.

Pack it up, all of it.  Christmas is over forever.

Nothing's going to top this.

ALSO FROM MY PARENTS:
A 7' plastic Christmas tree.
A wok.
Mixing bowls.
Keyboard vacuum.
Eyeglass cleaner.
Wang Hangers Chip Clips
Chocolate-covered Cashews

FROM MY GRANDPARENTS AND AUNTS:
Jammies.
Fifty U.S. dollars.

FROM MY SISTER:
Egg boilers.
More actual, bladed miniature swords.

Okay so this one is more of a fancy dagger and a letter opener than a hobbit sword but sitting next to Sting it looks like I'm starting up a full-scale midget armory.  People are going to start to think I'm dramatically undercompensating for something.

I gave my parents a PS3 (for blu-rays/Netflix, not because I'm trying to make them gaming addicts), a remote and a BD copy of The Dark Knight, my sister an Apple TV and a speaker pillow, and my grandparents/extended family a whole mess of gift cards.

God bless us every one.

1 nice sweater
3 novelty boxers that don't fit
1 bottle of cologne to replace the one my brother stole
1 movie I already owned
1 book entitled "Wii Game Creation for Teens"
1 bag of skittles
And a $20 gift card for gas

Oh. And someone from the internet sent me a Dalek Victory poster, so that won Best Gift this year.

Edit: Oh, Brentai! I have the same dagger/sword thingy. Mine doesn't have the gold bit though. That's weird.

Clever trickery on my part led to knowing a gift from Silversong was on the way. However, I didn't expect such deliciousness. Cookies are difficult to ship -- even when I'm warned to eat them long before opening up the bulk of the package. Someone makes a mean chocolate chip cookie. As such, they are not pictured.

I'm listening to Christmas music (well, Japanese rock) and drinking a mug of spicy vanilla glitter tea. It's an evening for solemn reflection and reveling in the finer points of December Giftmas.

From Silversong:
  • Stickers! (Nintendo, Kingdom Hearts, Kaiju Big Battel)
  • Dice! (2d20 and a Japanese conversation die -- intended for fluffy combat rather than actual conversation, if I'm not off my mark.)
  • Sword! (One Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword stylus. Perhaps it will fare better than my previous styluses, which end up lost or shaped like prinnies.)
  • Knights! (of the Dinner Table. One Hack! deck and two Lost Worlds books.)
  • Snacks! (Cookies and glitter tea. This cup isn't sparkling, but it was made in sub-optimal conditions.)
  • Harmonica! (with book, which advises me not to soak my new harp in whiskey, as much as I may want to.)
  • Art! (I don't know if my love of dragons reading books is camp or not. Proud display should soon answer this question.)
  • Stanley the Talking Fish! (Was this Mario comic a Dirty Santa regift? If not, I think this box was free of them.)
  • Plans! (How to be a Villain: Evil Laughs Secret Lairs, not pictured.)
  • Stush's measurements! (Curiously left in the back of a used notebook.)

On time, topical, and delicious. A++++ WOULD ACCEPT PRESENTS FROM AGAIN.

From /co/:
  • A one-month ban for buying people Christmas gifts.
  • Batman: Gothic in floppies.
  • 20th Century Boys #17

From everyone else:
  • Too many Steam games! As the years go by, I'll remember this as the Christmas when I played too much Dungeons of Dreadmor, most of my plans fell through, and my Steam wishlist collapsed. When will I play all of these cheap, high-quality games? My life is suffering and agony.
  • Jack Kirby's 4th World Omnibus #1
  • ... and the rest

Good times, family times, and a wacky ol' headache.

I got a big box of Roger yesterday! Christmas is saved!

Oh man, bubble wrap. My evening just got booked solid.

Oh right! The stuff holding up the bubble wrap.

They called this series Beasties here in Canada because we're not allowed to put "War" in the title of kid shows. Is owning these discs even legal?

Ooooh! Yugioh! This card is worth more than the Egyptian God Cards, right? Right?

Erotic Collectible Cards? Too bad the only game I can play with these is one-player.

Hey! It's a Chinese bootleg copy of that other Kousuke Fujishima series that isn't Ah! My Goddess.

Only Star Wars could get away with having action figures based on concept art and get away with it. This is probably evidence of something in the debate we're having over in the Star Wars thread, but I'm not certain of what.

You know, my parents never allowed me to have GI JOEs when I was a kid. Too violent, they said. So my knowledge of these guys' names is rusty. From left to right, there's Time-Displaced Confederate Soldier, Young Phil Collins, Deranged KISS Fanatic (with optional Jonathan Frakes mask!) and of course, this guy:

GI Joe Ice

Mama Mia! I'm-a surprised they haven't made a Mario Pinball game yet!

I don't know whose leg this is, but it's probably from a BAF. Thanks, Roger. Now I have to collect THE REST of the goddamn figure.

Bob-omb

<Brentai> Do you ever wonder if Japanese people all laugh at the zany translations they get of American movies? "Did you know that in America, 'Time-Confused Kid Oedipus McFly' is titled 'Back To The Future'?"

Collectible! That means it's worth money, right? RIGHT?

Hey, comics. The perfect accompaniment for a night of bubble-wrap popping.

Ah, Black Cat. You and your smoldering Jennifer Hale voice occupied the wet dreams of many a kid hitting puberty in the '90s. Then you went on to star in an abysmal rape-tastic abortion of a comics storyline written by Kevin Smith.

Blue Croissant is my favorite pokeyman.

No gift from Roger would be complete without more transformers than a hydroelectric dam.

Domo arigato, Roger Roboto.

I would, but TedBelmont forgot to send me a camera.

He did, however, send me a card game called Forbidden Island, a life-sized plastic hermit crab, and the Hark! A Vagrant book. The last one is especially welcome because my sister gave me Never Learn Anything from History for Christmas.

Now I feel even more like my own gift was inadequate.
