You were right, Kayma, no-lynch is a dumb strategy.

If I were GM I would have let the day continue after modkilling Tefari. Now we're in kind of an awkward Day One and a Half. You were right, Kayma, no-lynch is a dumb strategy.

Syl, Smiler didn't choose Alucard, it's a role that Friday assigned to him. Same with Laser. Your role is Bubbancy, and mine is Heinkel Wolfe. They're just getting a little more in-costume than the rest of us.
I must have completely misunderstood this bit.
Hm, I'm supposed to be a crazy quasi-vampire female.   :whoops:

To set this straight, I assigned "costume" roles (such as Alucard, Seras, etc) before I assigned actual gameplay roles. Which I use a random number generator to do.

So, as Friend said: It's entirely possible Smiler and Lee-Ham are vampires, of course, but if they are, it's just coincidence.

I shall change my vote away from something based purely upon avatars to something based upon evidence.

It's OK Syl, we understand you come from a land of weak, puny avatars. It must be a little bit of culture shock to be surrounded by such towering, majestic splendour

But randomly bandwagoning on somebody to put pressure on them and to get the nightscum to lower their guard is the best way to get shit done on day 1. FOR EXAMPLE: Caithness was the first person to suggest lynching Tefari, who was all but a confirmed innocent at the time. Yeah, he wasn't playing, but he wasn't hurting the innocents just yet.

The Envywagon was a hair's breadth away from "putting pressure on" to "burying six feet under", and if you think that incredibly flimsy indictment of Caithness counts as getting shit done you've got a more generous definition of shit-do-getting than I. On Day 1 my usual default posture, in the absence of any other information, is to arbitrarily become extremely wary of whoever is the fourth person to jump on a bandwagon. Just for the record, DNi, that was you.

Here's a thought: has anything changed that makes killing Envy any worse (or, for that matter, better) an idea than it was yesterday?

Why the fourth person?

Four is enough that a bad doesn't feel like they are drawing attention by starting a bandwagon, but not so much that it looks like they are trying to hammer the vote. In my experience 4 is actually an excellent rule of thumb for catching bads in the act.

Why the fourth person?

Nickasummers summed it up nicely.

Three votes are usually enough to get someone talking. More than that and you're just tipping the scale over the halfway point towards a scumdogpile and no information gained at all. In this case though I found Bleck's (#5) post more suspicious purely because of the way he worded it.

I'm tempted to just officially vote for Envy now, but he won't be lynched until he has something to say in his defense anyway and I agree that Romo and Syl are worthy targets. So let's hear it, Romo and Envy.

I think going after Romo for wanting to lynch the devil is giving him and the wolves too much credit. No offense, but I don't think anyone is simultaneously that clever and that dumb in order for it to be a serious thing.

But Lottel, there's the Envy paradox.
Which is also known as the Romo paradeux.

Oh. Yes Romosome, talky please.

Defenestration has an incredible focus on killing envy. He tried to start the bandwagon before and failed, so he's starting again? At the time I voted on the first day, I'd like to point out. I was actually evening out the bandwagon votes. Smiler had 3 votes and Envy had 2. I felt like evening it up to see what happened.

Defenestration wanting to lynch Envy doesn't come off as a bad trying to off an inno, it comes off as someone with a strong hunch. Bads don't care who they kill and generally wouldn't have the attention span to chase someone for more than a day, and if defenestration really wanted Envy dead and was a bad he could have eaten him last night anyway. This is a matter that can be settled with Envy's lynch, since it is more likely that Defenestration is good than bad, and most players seem to agree that an Envy lynch would be good for everyone anyway. I'd still like to hear from Romosome before I vote, though I don't think whatever post Romosome has cooking is really going to confirm or deny suspicions on him.

I hate to be a total derp, but I've been out of town a lot lately (LOL TRIPS RIGHT WHEN A WOLFGAME STARTS WHAT A RETARD).

And the DEVIL comment was me just throwing out a halfassed Alexander Anderson zealot comment.

I need to change my avatar, and then my next post will be entirely in-character. Because roleplaying is awesome.

the ondore family is a bunch of jerks but that's why we voted for mayor mike haggar

I'm vaguely suspicious of you, Kayma, but it's an extremely wishy-washy hunch.  Please write screeds about everyone so I can find something incriminating.

The dude had us drop someone who left the game because they accidentally confirmed their innocence. We lynched a damn confirmed innocent. Then the day ended and we lost another innocent.

Even if you think I'm tripping mad nightscum suspicion alarms, Caithness had an innocent murdered. That man is no man, that man is a monster.

The only role I had in Tefari's quitting was bringing to his attention the fact that the game had started. He may have quit even if someone else, or nobody, had mentioned it to him.

Trying to spin that as me intentionally getting an innocent modkilled is pretty disingenuous. I therefore feel no reservations about revenge-voting you, Disposable Ninja.

The problem is we're basically still on Day 1. The modkill meant we didn't get the information that we'd have gotten out of that initial lynch. We're a day behind and two innocent votes short, but maybe our seers got something.

Also, what the hell have Spineshark, Dizzy, Kazz, Bleck, and Ziiro been up to? (I think that's everybody who's been abnormally quiet. Am I forgetting anyone?)
