VvW9 Feedback: AKA holy shit buff the vampires

So yeah 9 games, zero vampire wins.

I was gonna wait till the current game was over to post this, but it may as well be at this point. On the other hand, if the bads do manage to win it, they get a special achievement!

SO

Vampires:

Dracula gets a night zero scry.

Dracula biting a wolf kills neither, but instead: Dracula loses his Dracula powers permanently, and both know who is who. The second Dracula is immediately voted into being. This cannot be the previous vampire who was Dracula.

A vampire attacking a wolf kills neither, but instead they both know each other. However, the vampires may opt to SUICIDE attack, which can kill a wolf, but also kills the vampire. Just like current rules.

What this will do is give the vampire team 4 possible actions per night:

SCRY: Same.

TURN: Risky without scrying, because if you turn a wolf Drac loses his powers. But it doesn't blow up the bads.

KILL: Almost as safe as scrying, since Vamps now cannot landmine themselves on a wolf unless they want to.

SUICIDE ATTACK: If you really want to get rid of a pesky wolf.

That's a lot of buffs, though, so I'm gonna add in an innocent role I've had in my head since like VvW5, but hadnt added because the vamps didn't need more nerfs.

GARLIC SELLER: Works like Wolfsbaner, except it prevents all vampire actions, including scry. Also, other players may buy Garlic for 3 gold as long as the Garlic Seller is alive.

Also, some new items that can both help and hurt the evil teams:

Devil Finder: Reveals the Devil to the user. If used BY the Devil, instead reveals the Devil to the wolves.

Dracula's Nail: Can be used by a vampire to turn that vampire into Dracula 3.0. However, if used by a wolf or innocent, gives them the power of the Vampire Hunter. This item cannot be stolen.

I still wear it as a badge of pride that as a newbie I took the Vamps to the very last turn and sunrise in VvW7.

No idea if that's the furthest vamps have ever gone but I'm still proud of how far I got despite not knowing much.

That's true, but we got lucky. We had all the Seers turned very early.

They've come close to winning several times, including your famous duel against Envy. But yeah, I just think these rules are better than VAMPIRE MISFIRE = INNOCENTS WIN

I'd say make it so that suicide attacks work like normal kills against innocents but as written against wolves.

Vamps made it to the last turn in 7 and I think it was 3 where the Vamps had the game fairly well locked down until Joxam got the IWIN button.

The theory of vampires is solid.
If vampires were playing just against innocents with rules being otherwise the same, we'd see consistent vampire wins.
Having vamps and wolves not kill each other is probably a good thing though.

I think the idea to focus on here is that innocents should also have to play well to win; they benefit too much from the way wolves and vampires check each other (or, specifically, from the ways wolves check vampires). Relative to each other, wolves and vampires have a good asymmetrical balance, but externalities of that balance benefit innocents perhaps too strongly.

Here's a thought: make the vampires and werewolves fight over the Devil. Each nightphase the Devil can scry one target or he can bind himself to, and thereby becomes part of, his target's team once per game. If he binds himself to a werewolf, he becomes part of the wolves' team, if he binds himself to a vampire he becomes part of the vampires' team. If he binds himself to an Innocent, however, he explodes and dies in the middle of the night. He loses if he is unable to bind himself to the winning team.

This would make it very easy for the vampires and wolves to form a temporary alliance, which would be devastating for the town.

Except that by doing that they have to reveal their people to each other which allows targeted strikes as soon as one side deems the alliance no longer necessary.

Making such an alliance would be risky business.

That might be interesting if there was more than one and they also had to not be on the same team to win?
As-is it seems a little... I dunno. Something's off.
Vamps already have a scry power and there are ways for vamps to get more scry powers, so it seems like giving vamps an overwhelming advantage rather than the slight edge they need to be a credible threat?

Or maybe the vamps are a credible threat? I mean, part of the reason they lose is because everyone is afraid of them and guns for them constantly.
