The latest (reprint) from Snyder and Ditko: Laszlo's Hammer.

It's already 2/3 of the way to its $2,100 goal on day one, so no need to worry about whether it'll get funded, but if you want some Ditko goodness, $15 will get you the new book and various goodies.  $5 more will get it personalized by Snyder.

EDIT: On closer inspection, it doesn't appear that this IS day one after all; there's an update with a July 16 date on it.  Well, first I'VE heard about it, anyway.  And still plenty of time to raise the remaining $700.

I know there was some confusion on shipping costs last time, and shipping prices aren't listed on the pledge amounts this time.  I've dropped Snyder a line to check and see if they're included or what he needs; I'm going to wait until I hear back before I throw in, but yeah I totally plan on contributing to this one even though I haven't finished all the stuff I got from the LAST Kickstarter.

EDIT 2: Heard back from Snyder; shipping is included in each pledge amount.  (US only this time, since he says the international shipping on the last batch took too much out of him, but he adds that the book will be available through foreign distributors at a later date.)

Reminder: you've got until Friday for Laszlo's Hammer by Steve Ditko.  I am still working my way through all the great stuff I got from the LAST Ditko Kickstarter and loving the hell out of it.

It's fully funded, so no pressure, but if you like good creator-owned comics by cranky Objectivist geniuses, I can't think of a better place to get them.

So, a friend of mine has started a Kickstarter to release an anthology of his comics. He's well past his goal so I luckily don't need to shill.

You ever have a friend doing his thing and think, man, he could really make it? I think this guy's got a shot.

Ouya is desperately trying to attract interest, and it's promised to match the money anyone that succeeds in a Kickstarter ouya project.

This has led to some projects that are backed by suspiciously few people, and some backed by multitudes of people with avatars from Google Image Search:

Remember when Penny Arcade did that $10 kickstarter for renewing their podcast that they already had all the equipment and demand?

They are "pay what you want" and non-rss-able. Sure you CAN download them for free but holy shit.

I think what Lottel is saying is that they asked for all that Kickstarter money when they didn't need it, now look at them asking for even more for the same damn thing again.

Mongrel hits it on the head.

I actually liked the original DLC podcast so I gave one of these a listen to last night. It's completely unedited. There's a part where it's silent for a whole minute, save for a solitary cough. This is a thing people paid thousands upon thousands to get made.

As for the RSS stuff, none of my non-itunes ways to fetch podcasts acknowledge its existence.

but, the kickstarter page called it, over and over, a pay what you want thing. It spelled out, this is what they beould do. "we will have a pay what you want set up.when the podcast comes out." Are you angry they did exactly what they said they'd do from the start?

...would you have preferred they send it to Best Buy first?

I was at the PAX announcement, and was wondering if we should just start throwing money at Inafune right there on stage.

Super Retro Squad update

Quote
After looking realistically at our situation, we realized that the game we originally pitched is too big for us to make all at once.

Quote
Instead of expecting one big game with nine characters, expect two or three games (probably two) with four or five characters each. We are planning on having the games connect to each other in some way; possibly allowing characters from one game into another.

here are a few things we're working on now:

Designing fundamental game mechanics

You know, he's not on that list, but Geo's in Ottawa.

I can't help but wonder if he's involved somehow.
