it's common knowledge among ladies for shaving their legs

This is actually the reason given by some men why they don't do this.
I just figured that practice makes perfect and I think I've gotten a fair bit better in spite of the nicks.

My fiancee was surprised that this was news; apparently it's common knowledge among ladies for shaving their legs.  But I'd never heard of it and neither had any of the dudes I mentioned it to.

It's true. I've actually been using a bar of shampoo/conditioner soap (that's actually meant for camping trips) as shaving lather.

Can you recommend a brand?  Also, where the hell does one find one of those little mug-and-brush lather kits?  Places I checked didn't have 'em.

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

I don't have sensitive skin so I don't really worry about it, I just use water/Irish spring bath soap and a razor. But yeah, using conditioner to make shaving a bit softer would be good if you did have sensitive skin, I mean it only makes sense and your face ends up smelling all yummy and delicious!

The one Shinra linked is working pretty well for me; it's soap, not shaving cream, if that makes a difference to you.

Also, the soap that comes with it is the only kind of shaving soap I can find in any brick-and-mortar store around here.  Works fine but doesn't really offer any opportunity to compare brands.

Hm. I will have to try Harlan's trick. We've already established that while my face is not particularly sensitive, my facial hair is like steel rebar.
