Olrox hurried along the cold corridor. It didn't do to keep his master waiting.
He came to the massive ornate doors. He knocked softly.
"Do come in, Olrox," said a soft voice from nowhere as the doors swung open silently.
Olrox stepped into the room. From the shadows, eyes gleamed atop a throne of darkness. Olrox knelt.
"Report," came the voice.
"The tenth game of VvW is almost upon us, as is the turn of the new millennium," Olrox said. "It's been seven games since VvW III, when you failed to avoid implementing a new dental plan for the Castle's denizens."
"I remember," came the voice, with a hint of bemusement this time.
"It seems the plan is up for renewal," Olrox said.
"Oh?"
"And... it seems..."
"Yes?"
"It seems... the vampires have yet to win any official VvW game," Olrox said.
There was a long moment of silence.
Then the figure on the throne leaned forward into the firelight.
"Then it seems it's time to give the world a taste of our true power, don't you agree?" Dracula, Lord of the Vampires, asked, eyes and fangs gleaming.

Ortega paced the floor of his cage. For six long years he had been locked away in this steel prison, ever since his defeat in VvW III. The bars were reinforced with powerful magic, both strengthening the prison and sapping him of his natural wolf powers.
The door swung open.
For a moment Ortega could only stand in place, blinking. Then, in one swift motion, he leaped through the opening.
Before him knelt a slim figure.
"Olrox," Ortega snarled, readying his claws. "You'll regret releasing me."
"It is our master's orders," Olrox said, not lifting his eyes. "And he brings you a gift, as well."
"He is not my master, vampire, and I'll not fall for any of your kind's feeble tricks," Ortega spit.
"Then gaze upon the gift yourself," Olrox said, placing something small on the ground in front of him, and then vanishing into the shadows, so fast it could not be seen.
Ortega bent and sniffed. The magic box glowed softly beneath him.
"Hah. As if I needed any gift from the lord of the flying rats," Ortega sniffed.
The box violently exploded, sending strong magical energies directly into Ortega's veins and blowing him off his feet.
When he rose, he was grinning.

Julius Belmont stood atop a cliff, gazing at the full moon. He grasped his trusty whip, Vampire Killer, closely at his side. He knew that this battle would be his last. But to face it alone...
"Not alone," said a voice.
"Yeah, you're not going to have all the fun," said another, more feminine voice.
Julius turned and smiled.
