I saw a letter in the WaPo that argued that Palin's 5 colleges in 6 years showed humble working-class roots, while Obama graduating from Harvard on his own classifies him as elitist.

I don't think you could convince me that this wasn't a trolling.  Has anyone come out with a poll that asks "are you afraid of a President that's smarter than you are?"

Dreyfuss?  I was hoping for DeVito.

I am scared to fucking death of the thought of McCain/Palin winning the election. Like, seriously.

I'm scared to fucking death of the possibility of a President Palin.  That's why I don't quite think Spaco's concern is valid; McCain's inexperienced VP has a decent chance of becoming an inexperienced P.

Do you think most people are thinking that far ahead, though? I hope so.

Well, it took them a good 6 years and several trillion dollars to figure out that Bush is a complete moron.

Based upon McCain's standing in the polls, I would say that is not true.

KARL FRICKIN' ROVE thinks McCain's lying too much.

Quote
"McCain has gone in his ads one step too far, and sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100-percent-truth test," said Rove. "Both campaigns ought to be careful about... there ought to be an adult who says: 'Do we really need to go that far in this ad? Don't we make our point and get broader acceptance and deny the opposition an opportunity to attack us if we don't include that one little last tweak in the ad?'"

Willis: "This is a little like a crack dealer saying you ought to lay off the crack a little bit."

Scott Adams presents survey of economists.

In a nutshell, the Democrat-leaning economists prefer Obama, the Republican-leaning economists prefer McCain, and independant economists lean towards Obama by a wee margin but mostly think that the choice will make no difference.

It seems that, nationally, only 17% of economists are registered Republican, as opposed to 48% Democrats and 27% indeps. Maybe this is the most telling statistic of all, if there is to be one.

I had always thought that economists, like engineers, stereotypically leaned to the right?

Economists know that spending more than you make from taxes is generally a bad idea.

Republicans tend to think the exact opposite.

Seems like we're harping on Palin to an excessive degree, but if she charges rape victims it's one thing, it's another when she apparently doesn't do anything to stop rape in a state with one of the highest domestic and sexual violence rates in the country.

Dunno, I'm still more angry about her kicking the victims while they're down.

I have no problem harping on Palin as much as possible. She's a genuinely horrible human being.

And John McCain / The Republican Party picked her to be the Vice- fuck you -President.

EDIT: also, Dick Cheney.
