Don't worry, he's one of mine, too.

I'd kina like to let him back right about when the returns start coming in.  That way he can cry reveal he's actually been a liberal all along as if that's a surprise to anybody cry.

Arizona Capitol Times is reporting an ASU Poll @ McCain 46 - Obama 44, plus an internal AZ GOP Poll giving McCain only a three point lead.

:serious: We need to wager something on this.

I was just talking to my grandmother (the liberal one) and she told me she has worked directly with the head of ASU's polling department and he conducts polls BADLY.

She said when she was a school district administrator, they used to contract him for polling and he wouldn't do due diligence -- she'd say "Wait, you need to account for the people on reservations who don't have phones" and he'd shrug and say they didn't matter to the poll.

She added that he's perfectly competent, he just likes to cut corners to save money.

So, okay, that's all personal anecdote.  But it tends to color my perspective.

McCain losing Arizona would be fucking ridiculous, and more or less pointless. By the time he's losing Arizona, he's lost everywhere else.

I'm convinced Palin and McCain only know who each other are through their TV ads.

I'm convinced Palin is in love with Obama.  It's all she fucking talks about.

She'll have to fight for him with Johnny, since Joe stood him up.

If Democrats had any brains, they'd make a big deal about how 2/3rds of the crowd were bused in.

Quote from: MSNBC
A local school district official confirmed after the event that of the 6,000 people estimated by the fire marshal to be in attendance this morning, more than 4,000 were bused in from schools in the area. The entire 2,500-student Defiance School District was in attendance, the official said, in addition to at least three other schools from neighboring districts, one of which sent 14 buses.

Why would they make a big deal about that? It would just make them seem petty. Even if it was 6,000 people desperate to see McCain then it still wouldn't measure up to a medium sized Obama rally. At this point the Dems want to seem magnanimous so that when they crush the the GOP they can come into power with the appearance of the higher ground.

Why would they make a big deal about that?

Your answer comes from what you did not quote:

bused in.

Crackpot Republicans (see: radio show hosts) suspected Obama of busing in tens of thousands for his events bordering Illinois. Now we have the admission that McCain has done this, with public funds, and with 6000 who cannot vote. My only question now is if Obama/Biden have performed anything similar with school kids.

They still don't want to make a point of it. Niggling about the small stuff is something you do when you're down, if then.

Still, the "They're doing the exact same shit they're falsely accusing us of" point needs to be driven in as far in as they've invited it.  I mean, hell, start a list.  See where it ends.

Then make the logical extrapolations... "Obama will ruin our economy, let terrorists successfully attack us, and completely fuck up our international relationships."  Because, you know, you have to make certain logical leaps to arrive at the conclusion that all that might happen under a Republican leader.

I would be interested in seeing that list. It would probably make good chain email fodder.

Now that's the sort of obnoxious campaigning the Dems are advised to avoid at this point.  But it should be compiled for posterity's sake.

Off the top of my head, let's see...

  • Bussing people in (as covered)
  • Committing voter fraud
  • Taxing Joe the Plumber (a specific case, but one they brought up)
  • Spending to deficit (general case, but you can see it right here: National Debt History by President.  Note that we actually do like Ike.)

There are a couple of "valid on both counts" examples like having inexperienced candidates and various guilt-by-association claims (well, more "applicable" than "valid", but the point stands).  For purpose of contrast, though, I'm sticking with the clear-cut cases of total fucking hypocrisy.  Sure I could dig up more examples if I reread some of the topics on this board, since I've been explicitly pointing them out for a while now.

Meanwhile, in the Minnesota Senate race:

Norm Coleman sues Al Franken for defamation!

He apparently does this every time he runs for office.
